MR-New

Casee: I started off the month strong, but totally crapped out at the end. I absolutely adore the Lawless series by Lexi Blake and it took me over a week to read Revenge. Elle Kennedy was my favorite author of the month. I heart her. I read 10 books this month.

1. Midnight Action by Elle Kennedy | 3 out of 5
2. Midnight Captive by Elle Kennedy | 3.5 out of 5
3. Midnight Revenge by Elle Kennedy | 3.5 out of 5
4. Midnight Target by Elle Kennedy | 3.5 out of 5
5. Claimed by Elle Kennedy | 4 out of 5
6. Addicted by Elle Kennedy | 4 out of 5
7. Ruled by Elle Kennedy | 3.5 out of 5
8. Kiss An Angel by SEP (reread) | 4.5 out of 5
9. Shadow Reaper by Christine Feehan | 3 out of 5
10. Revenge by Lexi Blake | 4.25 out of 5

My favorite book of the month was Revenge followed by Claimed. I love dystopian romance as I’ve said again and again.

Holly: I managed 21 books in March. Two of those were DNF’s. The majority were re-reads.

  1. Shadow Reaper by Christine Feehan | 3 out of 5
  2. Love in the Afternoon by Lisa Kleypas (reread) | 4.25 out of 5
  3. The Secret by Julie Garwood (reread) | 4.25 out of 5
  4. Lady Sophia’s Lover by Lisa Kleypas (reread) |4 out of 5
  5. Suddenly You by Lisa Kleypas (reread) | 3.75 out of 5
  6. The Prize by Julie Garwood (reread) | 4.25 out of 5
  7. Midnight Angel by Lisa Kleypas (reread) | 4 out of 5
  8. Cold-Hearted Rake by Lisa Kleypas | 4 out of 5
  9. Own the Wind by Kristen Ashley (reread) | 4 out of 5
  10. Silence Fallen by Patricia Briggs (reread) | 4.25 out of 5
  11. Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews (reread) | 4.25 out of 5
  12. Sweep in Peace by Ilona Andrews (reread) | 4 out of 5
  13. One Fell Sweep by Ilona Andrews (reread) | 4.5 out of 5
  14. Fire Touched by Patricia Briggs (reread) | 4.25 out of 5
  15. The Bride by Julie Garwood (reread) | 4 out of 5
  16. The Lion’s Lady by Julie Garwood (reread) | 4.25 out of 5
  17. Honor’s splendour by Julie Garwood (reread) | 4.5 out of 5
  18. Because You’re Mine by Lisa Kleypas (reread) | 3.75 out of 5
  19. Worth Any Price by Lisa Kleypas (reread) | 4.5 out of 5
  20. When an Alpha Purrs by Eve Langalais | DNF
  21. Elemental Mating by Milly Taiden | DNF

I can’t really choose a favorite this month, since all but one were re-reads. Shadow Reaper by Feehan was just okay. My least favorite was Elemental Mating. The hero and heroine both made ridiculous decisions that put them both in danger, and the plot took a strange turn around chapter 17. I didn’t read enough of When An Alpha Purrs to correctly judge it (though what I did read was enough to make me think I wouldn’t enjoy it).

Rowena: I am currently 20 books ahead in my GoodReads Challenge and I’m so happy about that. I’ve never been that far along in anything so woo hoo, go me! Here’s what I read last month:

  1. Havoc by Jamie Shaw | 4 out of 5
  2. Off the Ice by Julie Cross | 3.75 out of 5
  3. When the Marquess Falls by Lorraine Heath | 3.75 out of 5
  4. Isn’t She Lovely by Lauren Layne | 4.5 out of 5
  5. Broken by Lauren Layne | 4 out of 5
  6. Crushed by Lauren Layne | 4.25 out of 5
  7. Cold Hearted Rake by Lisa Kleypas | 4 out of 5
  8. Marrying Winterborne by Lisa Kleypas | 3.75 out of 5
  9. Devil in Spring by Lisa Kleypas | 4.25 out of 5
  10. Love in the Afternoon by Lisa Kleypas (re-read) | 4.5 out of 5
  11. How the Duke was Won by Lenora Bell | 3.75 out of 5
  12. If I Only Had a Duke by Lenora Bell | 4.5 out of 5
  13. Blame it on the Duke by Lenora Bell | 4 out of 5
  14. Midnight Target by Elle Kennedy | 4 out of 5
  15. Walk of Shame by Lauren Layne | 4.25 out of 5
  16. Pipe Dreams by Sarina Bowen | 4.25 out of 5
  17. Frisk Me by Lauren Layne | DNF
  18. Overruled by Emma Chase (re-read) | 1 out of 5
  19. Appealed by Emma Chase (re-read) | 4 out of 5
  20. Charmed Thirds by Megan McCafferty | DNF

My favorite reads of the month go to Isn’t She Lovely by Lauren Layne and If I Only Had a Duke by Lenora Bell. Both books so such fantastic reads, books that spoke to me and made me feel all of the feels. They were so good.

Honorable mentions go to Pipe Dreams by Sarina Bowen, Walk of Shame by Lauren Layne and Crushed by Lauren Layne. All of those were great reads for me as well.

My least favorite read of the month goes to Frisk Me by Lauren Layne. I DNF’d this book because I could not get over how mad the heroine was making me in the beginning. I made it to about 30% before giving up for good because on top of the heroine pissing me off, I was starting to get mad at the hero for not putting the dumbass heroine in her place. I’m sure things get better further into the book but meh. I couldn’t be bothered to finish it.

This month we’re giving away:

Claimed by Elle Kennedy
If I Only Had a Duke by Lenora Bell
Any book from Holly’s list, winner’s choice (since they were all re-reads)

If you want to be entered to win, leave a comment on this post telling us what your favorite – and least favorite – reads of the month were. My favorite read of the month was The Thing About Love by Julie James. My least favorite was Zero to Sixty by Marie Harte.

I would like to win Claimed. Thanks for the chance!

  2. erinf1

I had a great reading month! I had all favs: Stealing Mr. Right, Ghostface Killer, Dirty, The Unyielding… just to name a few 🙂 I’m also 14 books ahead of schedule on the goodreads challenge. Trying not to lose momentum. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Kareni

Were I to win, I’d like one of the books from Holly’s list.

I read some really good books in March including The Tin Box by Kim Fielding, Anne Bishop’s Etched in Bone, and For Real (Spires) by Alexis Hall.

A decidedly uninspiring book I read was the regency romance A Taste For Love by Donna Bell.

  4. Laura Lovejoy- Brunk

My favorite ‘ new release’ read this month? Silence Fallen by Patricia Briggs. I havent had the chance to read to many new ones. Spent a lot of time catching up on past series.

  5. Kim

My favorite reads of the month were Devil in Spring by Lisa Kleypas and Lady’s Code of Misconduct by Meredith Duran. I didn’t have a least favorite book.

@Rowena – I just finished Frisk Me. It wasn’t a DNF for me, but if the heroine angered you in the beginning, you won’t believe the bad choice she makes towards the end of the book.

Please enter me for either book.

  6. Diane Sallans

I started re-reading JD Robb’s In Death series – it’s fun to reaquaint myself with how the characters joined the series.

  7. Maureen

My favorite read was Without Words by Ellen O’Connell and my least favorite was Freight Trained by Sarah Curtis.

  8. Ada

My favorite was Just One Kiss from Susan Mallery’s Fool’s Gold series. I’d forgotten how much I love her writing and this series, now I have to catch up on the rest of the books! All my reads this month were pretty good so I didn’t have a least favorite.
