Books to Binge On: August 2016

We’re already in the month of August. I can’t freaking believe it. There are only four more months of the year left. Where has the time gone? I can tell you where all of my money will be going to this month.

1. For Better or Worse (Wedding Belles #2) by Lauren Layne.

2. Torch (Wildwood #3) by Karen Erickson.

Rowena: I was so looking forward to the release of this book. It’s Tate and Wren’s book. Yippy skippy!

3. No Mistress of Mine (An American Heiress in London #4) by Laura Lee Guhrke.

Rowena: I’m really enjoying this series so I’m looking forward to this new addition.

4. You Before Anyone Else by Julie Cross & Mark Perini.

Model Finley needs someone to help her shed her “good girl” persona, so she’ll try Eddie on for size.

New York City model Finley is fed up with hearing the same feedback at castings: she needs to take some serious action to wipe the “good girl” stamp from her resume if she wants to launch to stardom.

Enter Eddie Wells. He’s shallow, predictable…and just as lost as Finley feels. Deep down, Finley is drawn to Eddie’s bravado, his intensity. Except Eddie is hiding something. A big something. And when it surfaces, both loving and leaving Finley will become so much harder.

Rowena: I’ve been meaning to try more Julie Cross books and I was glad that I picked this one up because it was a great story with two strong NA characters that really pulled at my heartstrings. I can’t wait for this one!

5. Ruthless (Lawless #1) by Lexi Blake.

The first in a sexy contemporary romance series featuring the Lawless siblings—from New York Times bestselling author Lexi Blake.

Rowena: I’ve been seeing some really great early reviews for this book and after reading the blurb, I was sold. I just read my eARC of this book last week and I’m excited for the rest of the books in this series. Definitely add this to your TBB lists. J

Rowena: I’m a new fan of the Psy/Changelings series and I’m super excited to get more Psy/Changeling goodness until the next book comes out. I’m excited to read more about Dorian but for Stefan’s story too and Kenji!! Yay!

Rowena: I love MacLean’s books so of course I’m looking forward to digging into this book. She writes fantastic historical romances!

Holly: I’m really excited for this one. MacLean is one of my favorite historical authors.

8. Under the Lights (Field Party #2) by Abbi Glines.

In the follow-up to Abbi Glines’s #1 New York Times bestseller Until Friday Night—which bestselling author Kami Garcia called “tender, honest, and achingly real”—three teens from a small southern town are stuck in a dramatic love triangle.

Rowena: I read the first book in this series last year and enjoyed it enough that I wanted to continue the series. Brady was a character that I was interested in reading more about even though he got on my hot damn nerves in that first book. So I’m pretty stoked that this book is almost out. Freaking finally.

9. It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover.

Sometimes it is the one who loves you who hurts you the most.

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. Rowena: After November 9, I’m not quite sure I’m ready for this book but…it’s still going on my TBB list because I can’t help myself.

10. Dark Carousel (Dark Series) by Christine Feehan.

Casee: This is a series that I’ll never give up on. I just love it, even though there have been more misses than hits in recent years. This book was a hit. You can read my review here.

11. Dragonmark (Dark-Hunters) by Sherrilyn Kenyon.

Casee: After I read Dragonbane and the betrayal by Illarion at the end of the book, I’m really wondering how he’s going to redeem himself.

12. First Star I See Tonight (Chicago Stars) by Susan Elizabeth Phillips.

Casee: I haven’t read an SEP book in ages, but this one has caught my eye. A quarterback and a detective? Where could you go wrong?

Holly: I’m on a break with SEP right now, but I plan to buy this anyway. I know I’ll read it eventually.

13. Her Darkest Nightmare by Brenda Novak.

15. Magic Steals by Ilona Andrews.

16. Homecoming by Shannon Stacey.

Holly: I’m on the fence about this one. The premise intrigues me, but I didn’t care for the last Winstead-Jones/Howard duet I read. I’m going into it cautiously.
