What Are You Reading? (294)

WAYR-New

Casee: After reading The Bourbon Kings, I’ve been looking forward to The Angels’ Share. I haven’t gotten into it enough to really enjoy it, but I know I will. I’ve already read one chapter and it was full of suspense and omg, I couldn’t believe what happened. I know I’ll love it. Another soap opera.

I’ve also started another series by Scarlett Cole called the Second Circle and I’m really enjoying that. It revolves around a tattoo parlor and everyone in it is hot! I’m looking forward to diving back into it after I finish The Angels’ Share.

Rowena: This week was another slow reading week for me (seriously, what’s new?), I only read one book but it was a book that I enjoyed because it was all drama and steamy romance. I read Ruthless by Lexi Blake and I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series. I’m so ready for some Bran Lawless. Squee.

Right after I finished Ruthless last night, I jumped into For Better or Worse by Lauren Layne because I couldn’t help myself. I’ve been wanting to get my hands on an eARC of this book since I finished To Have and To Hold a few weeks ago. So far, it’s everything I was hoping it would be but Lauren Layne is good to me like that. I already love the hell out of Josh Tanner. I also want to be Heather Fowler. Ha! After this, I’m going to jump into Torch by Karen Erickson because that’s next up on my review pile. I’m looking forward to that one too.

What are you reading? Anything good?

I just finished Eidolon, Book 2 in Grace Draven’s Wraith Kings series. Radiance was one of my favorite books last year so I had high hopes for it and Grace did not let me down. Wow, was that ever good. I also read Blamed, a romantic suspense by Edie Harris, that featured a fantastic kick-a** heroine and lots of action. I thought it was a really good balance between romance and suspense.

Books I read and enjoyed this week~

    — Boundary Born (Boundary Magic) by Melissa F. Olson; I enjoyed this, but I’d recommend starting with the first book in the series, Boundary Crossed.
    — the contemporary romance Hot in Hellcat Canyon by Julie Anne Long. This had some witty dialogue that had me attempting to stifle laughter while reading on the bus.
    — In the Zone (Portland Storm Book 7) by Catherine Gayle. This contemporary romance happens to be CURRENTLY free to Kindle readers.
    — the historical romance Wedding Night With the Earl: The Heirs’ Club of Scoundrels by Amelia Grey. This was a pleasant story but I found myself skimming it at times.
    — Ainslie Paton’s contemporary romance Offensive Behavior (Sidelined Book 1); it’s 99cents for Kindle readers right now.
    — the contemporary romance Sleepless in Manhattan (From Manhattan With Love) by Sarah Morgan and the related novella, Midnight at Tiffany’s (From Manhattan with Love)
    — the male/male contemporary romance Lovers Leap by JL Merrow.
    — a re-read of Elle Kennedy’s new adult contemporary romance The Deal (Off-Campus).
    — a re-read of the Star Trek novel, Doctor’s Orders by Diane Duane
    — the steampunk male/male romance Clockwork Heart (Clockwork Love) by Heidi Cullinan
    — and currently reading the fantasy The Invisible Library (The Invisible Library Novel) by Genevieve Cogman
