Book Stuff We’re Obsessed with this Week

Sarina Bowen finally revealed who Zach’s heroine is going to be and while a lot of fans were less than enthused about it, I’m okay with it. I was hoping for a May and Zach pairing but I have faith that Sarina will make me fall in love with Lark too. I also like that it’s not someone completely new but someone connected to May.

I’m not going to lie though, I still want May’s story and I hope we get it somewhere down the line so…if you’re listening Sarina, please please please write May’s story. ☺.

Here’s the summary for Keepsake, the third book in Sarina Bowen’s True North series.

When her best friend offers her a stay at the Shipley orchard in exchange for help at the farmers’ markets, Lark jumps into her little car and heads to Vermont.

Unfortunately, the night terrors don’t stop. Desperate to keep her fragile state a secret from those who know her best, she relies on the most soft-spoken resident of Orange County, Vermont, to calm her down when her dreams prove too much.

Zachariah, 23, is a survivor of a different kind. It’s been three years since he was tossed aside by the polygamist cult out west, and the only home he’d ever known. In Vermont, he’s found a peaceful place in the bunkhouse at the Shipley’s farm. He’s good with animals, and he’s good with his hands. But getting thrown away by your own people at nineteen leaves a mark on a guy. And he doesn’t always know what to make of a world where apps and movie quotes are the primary means of communication. Before hitchhiking to Vermont, he’d never watched TV. He’d never spoken on the phone.

Actually, there are still a lot of things he’s never done.

Zach and Lark slowly grow to trust one another. One night they become even closer than they’d planned. But Lark may still be too broken to trust anyone. When she shoves Zach away, he will have to prove to himself that he’s good for more than farm labor.

Sounds good to me. Yay!

Variety announced Lionsgates decision to cancel the theatrical release for Ascendant, the final movie chapter in the Divergent movie series. Lionsgate intends for Ascendant to air as a TV movie with a TV series spinoff.

It was also announced that the stars from the movies are not contracted to return and reprise their movie roles just yet and might not return for them either. I’m sorry but a Divergent movie without Four? I’m not watching that…especially since he was the only reason I was watching those movies in the first place. Gah.

Elle Kennedy made some announcements this week in her newsletter too and I’m super excited and a little sad about it. Her next Killer Instincts book, Midnight Target will probably be the final installment in that series but on the bright side, we’re getting TWO FULLY DEVELOPED ROMANCES so that’s something and those romances are for characters near and dear to all of us fans. We’re getting Sully & and Liam’s story as well as Cate & Ash’s story. Yippy skippy!

That does it for this week’s weekly wrap up. How was your week in books? Hear any book news that we missed? Get any new books you want to share? Review any books we should check out? Please share.

  1. I’m not surprised about Ascendant. They waited too long between releases and everyone lost interest. I’m with you, though. No Four? No movie for me.
