A staggering transformation has put the Psy, humans, and changelings at a crossroads. The Trinity Accord promises a new era of cooperation between disparate races and groups. It is a beacon of hope held together by many hands: old enemies, new allies, wary loners.

But a century of distrust and suspicion can’t be so easily forgotten, and it threatens to shatter Trinity from within at any moment. As rival members vie for dominance, chaos and evil gather in the shadows and a kidnapped woman’s cry for help washes up in San Francisco, while the Consortium turns its murderous gaze toward a child who is the embodiment of change, of love, of piercing hope: a child who is both Psy…and changeling.

To find the lost and protect the vulnerable—and to save Trinity—no one can stand alone. This is a time of loyalty across divisions, of bonds woven into the heart and the soul, of heroes known and unknown standing back to back and holding the line. But is an allegiance of honor even possible with traitors lurking in their midst?

In Nalini Singh’s 15th Psy-Changeling novel we get to catch up with all of our favorite characters from the previous books.  I loved how Singh was able to start moving the story in the direction she wants it to go all while wrapping up stories from the past.

We got to see ALL of the characters and find out what they’re up to but it wasn’t like she was just a look-see into what they were doing.  They were all involved in making the world they live in a better place while still keeping on their guard about possible threats to their loved ones.

The Trinity Accord is signed but not everyone is happy that the different races are working together. There’s still a lot of distrust among the people and they try to deal with that the best way they know how.

The story deals with death of loved ones, the birth of pupcubs, the awesome protectiveness of a mother for her child and the different ways that can be accomplished for different races, the true acceptance of different species of packs and what that meant to the members of those packs.  The story had me smiling one minute and tearing up the next.  The underlying feeling and message of hope was a powerful thing and was woven so well into the story.

I truly look forward to seeing what Singh has for us next.  I want to see some of these little ones all grown up and see what they will have to offer the world in the future.
