MR-New

Holly: I had a pretty sad reading month. Things are crazy for me right now and I’ve had very little time to dedicate to reading.

  1. Uncovered by Linda Winfree (re-read) | 3.5 out of 5
  2. The Return of Eden McCall by Judith Duncan (re-read) | 4 out of 5
  3. Gone From Me by Linda Winfree | 4 out of 5
  4. White Tiger by Jennifer Ashley | 4 out of 5
  5. Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley (re-read) | 4.25 out of 5
  6. Allegiance of Honor by Nalini Singh | 4.25 out of 5
  7. Fall Into Me by Linda Winfree (re-read) | 4.5 out of 5
  8. Fire Touched by Patricia Briggs (re-read) | 4.25 out of 5
  9. Magic Breaks by Ilona Andrews | 4.25 out of 5

Not including re-reads, my favorite read of the month was a toss up between Magic Breaks, Gone from Me and Allegiance of Honor. All three were wonderful and I’m hard pressed to pick one over the others.

My least favorite read was probably Uncovered, but I didn’t dislike it. It just wasn’t quite as good as the others I read.

Rowena: March was a really good reading month for me. I got a lot of reading done and I’m pretty excited about that. Here’s what I read:

  1. After the Kiss (Sex, Love & Stilettos #1) by Lauren Layne | 4 out of 5
  2. Love the One You’re With (Sex, Love & Stilettos #2) by Lauren Layne | 4 out of 5
  3. Just One Night (Sex, Love & Stilettos #3) by Lauren Layne | 3.5 out of 5
  4. The Trouble with Love (Sex, Love & Stilettos #4) by Lauren Layne | 4 out of 5
  5. Once and Always (Sequels #2) by Judith McNaught (re-read) | 4 out of 5
  6. Because of Miss Bridgerton (Rokesby #1) by Julia Quinn | 4 out of 5
  7. Nobody but You (Cedar Ridge #3) by Jill Shalvis | 4 out of 5
  8. All Chained Up (Devils Rock #1) by Sophie Jordan | 4 out of 5
  9. Ignite (Wildwood #1) by Karen Erickson | 4 out of 5
  10. Undecided by Julianna Keyes | 4 out of 5
  11. This One Moment (Pushing Limits #1) by Stina Lindenblatt | 2 out of 5
  12. Dirty (Dive Bar #1) by Kylie Scott | 4 out of 5
  13. Eight Ways to Ecstasy (Art of Passion #2) by Jeanette Grey | 4 out of 5
  14. The Earl Takes All (Hellions of Havisham #2) by Lorraine Heath | 4.5 out of 5
  15. The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata | 4 out of 5
  16. Calling It by Jen Doyle | 2.75 out of 5

My favorite read of the month goes to The Earl Takes All by Lorraine Heath. This book surprised me. I wasn’t expecting to love it since the story itself is complicated and I wasn’t looking forward to losing one of the characters that I liked in the first book. But Edward and Julia’s story hit me in the feels and I sighed, I cried and I loved every minute.

My least favorite book of the month goes to This One Moment by Stina Lindenblatt. I couldn’t connect with either the hero or the heroine and they drove me right up the wall at every turn then when it was done, I still didn’t really care for either character. The story as a whole didn’t grab me and I was glad to have moved on after it was done.

This month we’re giving away:

The Earl Takes All by Lorraine Heath
Magic Breaks by Ilona Andrews

  1. March was a good reading month for me. I rated three books as 5–unheard of! They were mystery/thriller reads, and I highly recommend each of them:

The Saints of the Lost & Found (T.M.Causey) has a supernatural bent, and a genuine south Louisiana setting written by a native. The book’s been called “Southern gothic.”

Find Her (Lisa Gardner) would be a typical police procedural in another author’s hands. But Gardner simply amazes in her Boston detective D.D. Warren series. This is number eight and they’re all in the great-to-outstanding range.

Fool Me Once (Harlan Coben) is a stand-alone thriller that features a very strong single-mother heroine with a military background and has the most astounding ending of a book I’ve read in the past two decades.

Of the 19 books I read, none ranked lower than 3. My least favorite was probably Katie Ruggle’s On His Watch novella, but it wasn’t a bad read. If I win, I’d enjoy either book–Heath first, Andrews second. Thanks for the giveaway.

  2. CelineB

My favorite book of March was Stars Above by Marissa Meyer. My least favorite was The Unforgettable Hero by Valerie Bowman; it was just too short of a novella to develop the story and characters enough.

  3. Kareni

Picking favorites and least favorites is always a challenge! A couple of favorites were Broken Heart Syndrome and Sticks and Stones, two contemporary romances by Susie Tate. Anne Bishop’s first Black Jewel novel was one that left me with mixed feelings.

I”d love to win The Earl Takes it All by Lorraine Heath.
