Holly: Nothing. I’m not reading a thing.

Rowena: Someone hold Holly. Day 22 of the new year and nothing read, Holly? The devil’s got your soul now…there isn’t a thing my prayers will do for you. Sorry! Haha.

I’m finishing up Against the Wall by Jill Sorenson and I’m enjoying Eric and Meghan’s story. I’m so happy that they found their way back to each other. happy sigh After this one, I’m going to jump into Dare to Run by Jen McLaughlin.

What are you reading this week? Any new favorites or books that drove you crazy? Share!

  1. Kareni

Books read this week include ~

    — Charlie N. Holmberg’s The Glass Magician (The Paper Magician Series) which is the sequel to The Paper Magician which I recently read. I enjoyed it.

    All good:
    — Come Home to Me: A Homefront Novella by Jessica Scott which is currently free to Kindle readers.
    — The Secret Casebook of Simon Feximal by K J Charles which is a male/male historical romance with some paranormal elements.
    — First Strike (The I-Team Series) by Pamela Clare also currently free to Kindle readers. This is a prequel (thus a cliffhanger) to the author’s Striking Distance; it’s contemporary.
    — Winter Wonderland by Heidi Cullinan; a male/male contemporary romance.
    — Venomous: Science Fiction Romance (Alien Warrior Book 1) by Penelope Fletcher; this was a re-read.
    — Valentine: An On Dublin Street Novella by Samantha Young (this one is currently free to Kindle readers but won’t make much sense if you haven’t read others of the author’s books.)

    — re-read Andy Weir’s The Martian for my book group and enjoyed it again.
    — Kulti by Mariana Zapata: an enjoyable contemporary romance which I’ll likely re-read.
    — re-read the historical romance The Many Sins of Lord Cameron (Mackenzies Series Book 3) by Jennifer Ashley. I enjoyed it once more.
    — 15 W. Gibson by Aubree Lane which is a VERY short novella; it’s an epistolary novella set primarily in the early 1950s; it was a pleasant read.

    • Holy cow, you were a reading machine last week Kareni! I forgot all about the Valentine short by Samantha Young. I need to get on that already.

  2. Holly, oh my dear, I feel for you–been there, barely got out, with some of my sanity remaining, just last week.

I hope, from the bottom of my hear, that your stay in that horrid place is brief and soon forgotten ((((Holly))))

    • Seriously, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise for me since I don’t get nearly as many books read each year as Holly does but for something like this to happen to Holly? Some God is mighty pissed off…haha.

So AL, what did you read once you finally got out of your own reading slump?

      • Well, it’s not a given thing that I’m out of the slump, but what happened was that I signed up for SuperWendy’s TBR Challenge again this year, and the book I grabbed from the TBR mountain range for January’s review, Ellis Peters’ A Morbid Taste for Bones, grabbed me from first paragraph to last word.

Here’s my review, if anyone is interested.
