What Are You Reading? (258)

WAYR-New

Rowena: I’m getting some reading done, I’m just not reading a whole lot right now. This week I read Claimed by Elle Kennedy, which I enjoyed. It was different from what I normally read (lots and lots of steamy sex scenes and sharing going on) but I thought it was well written. I’m looking forward to the other books in this series…and am wondering who is going to get their story told next.

I also read Sounds Like Me: My Life (So Far) in Song by Sara Bareilles and enjoyed that one as well. Bareilles writing voice is exactly how I thought talking to her in real life would be. It was nice to get some stories into her life and the background on her songs that I love. That story about how Love Song came about was a cool story and the song itself cracked me up. There were some parts that I thought were slow but for the most part, this was an enjoyable read.

I finished Falling for the Wrong Guy by Sara Hantz last night and it annoyed the snot out of me. Both of the main characters got on my nerves, the heroines brother made me want to punch him in the throat and the overall story just got on my nerves so when I finished it, I was glad. There were a few things that I enjoyed but for the most part, meh.

Right now, I’m reading Kissing Her Crazy by Kira Archer and so far, it’s good. I hope it holds up. I’ll let you guys know next week (or in the comments).

Holly: I am not getting any reading done right now. I’m in the worst funk. I read The Legend of Lyon Redmond by Julie Anne Long, which I really loved. I think that might be it. Is that it? Really? OMG I’m so depressed right now.

What are you reading? Did you read anything good or bad this week? Share!

  1. Kareni

Books I’ve read this week include:

    — L.A. Witt’s Static (Winner: Best Bisexual / Transgender Sci-Fi / Paranromal / Fantasy in the 2011 Rainbow Awards) which was an intriguing and enjoyable read.
    — re-read Patricia Briggs’ Fair Game, The Heir by Grace Burrowes, Kissing Under the Mistletoe: A Sullivan Christmas by Bella Andre, and Love in the Afternoon by Lisa Kleypas
    — a lovely young adult novel Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
    — Wreckage by Emily Bleeker (this one kept me guessing)
    — an extremely short story The Egg by Andy Weir (author of the Martian); it’s available on line
    — My Dearest Enemy by Connie Brockway (a re-read) and Highlander Undone by Connie Brockway (her latest); both were good, but My Dearest Enemy is my favorite Brockway book

  2. Ooh, you had a good reading week Kareni!

I LOVE Love in the Afternoon by Lisa Kleypas. Such a good read. I have Patricia Briggs on my TBR list but I haven’t gotten around to her yet.
