Summit of the Wolf by Tera ShanleyTracy’s review of Summit of the Wolf (Silver Wolf Clan #4) by Tera Shanley

An Unbreakable Bond

Morgan Carter is a claimed werewolf. Only her mate, Greyson Crawford, has the right to protect her, and to love her. But that hasn’t stopped rival packs from challenging Greyson’s claim. Morgan is the last silver wolf—the only female with the ability to produce werewolf offspring, which means there are many who would defy pack law to make her their own.

An Unstoppable Evil

When war comes to the Silver Wolf Clan on the eve of The Summit, Morgan and Greyson have no choice but to fight for their kind. With the arrival of an ancient enemy, the two realize that the war has only just begun, and to survive the greatest threat they have ever faced, they must learn to trust each other again…

In the fourth installment of the Silver Wolf Clan series I thought that Morgan and Greyson were going to catch a break and be able to lead normal (normal for shifters) lives but that’s not what happens.

(You must read novellas 1-3 in order to follow the story.)

Greyson is still fighting off challengers who want Silver Wolf (Morgan) despite the fact she’s been claimed and happily mated. When they lose one of their friends in a fight and call “the old ones” they decide that they should attend the yearly Summit that is held for their kind to interact. They don’t want to go but they want everyone to see that Morgan won’t have anyone else but Greyson and his wolf, who they call Demon Wolf.

On top of that they get a visit from an ancient vampire who warns them against a scheme that has been put in place and will supposedly wipe out Morgan and any risk of her procreating. During the Summit Morgan’s patience is put to the test and she finds out that no matter what her life is not her own.

This novella was a good one. Every time I finish a story in this series I just want more. I want a full length novel to tell me all as I’m just an impatient person. In this story we’re getting down to what’s been the issue almost from the beginning – Morgan having babies. As she is Silver Wolf and the Silver Wolf Clan was thought extinct everyone wants her so they can have full blooded wolf children. She just wants to be left alone in peace but at the Summit Alexis shows up (the bitch who tried to murder Morgan and ended up turning her) and makes a horrendous suggestion. I can’t tell you what the suggestion is as it would ruin the story for you but it was pretty horrible and sent Greyson and Morgan into a tailspin.

Summit of the Wolf came through on the excitement, love and loyalty that’s been a thread throughout the series. The story was well done and had me on the edge waiting to see what happened next. I’m looking forward to the next part of the series.

Rating: 4 out of 5
