What Are You Reading? (247)

WAYR-New

Rowena: In the last couple of weeks, I’ve noticed that my reading has gone way up and that makes me happy. I also realized why my reading has gone up. When I don’t have a plan of action, a list of books that I want and need to read then I don’t read as much. Actually, I don’t read at all. So I made a list of books that I have for review, books that I want to read and sorted them by release date and I’m tackling that reading list….AND LOVING IT.

In the last week, I finished After Hours by Claire Kennedy and didn’t like it. The characters got on my nerves and I wanted more from the game but didn’t get it so it fell flat for me. I also read Second Chance Summer by Jill Shalvis and enjoyed it. Not as much as some of her other books but it was still an enjoyable read. Aidan was yummy. After that, I read Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley and absolutely LOVED that book. I loved pretty much everything about it. The hero. The heroine. The romance. The secondary characters. I can’t wait to read more from this series.

Now I’m reading Pixelated by L.S. Murphy. It’s a contemporary YA romance that I’m liking a lot more than the YA’s that I read last week. I hope it stays that way. After this, I’m going to read Faking Perfect by Rebecca Phillips.

Holly: I haven’t read a book in over a week. I’m in a funk. It sucks. I re-read parts of Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley and Shield of Winter by Nalini Singh, but that’s it. Maybe next week. fingers crossed

What are you reading this week? Anything good? Bad?

I am still struggling to find any reading time, boo. I did manage to eventually get through the first book of Heather Graham’s Krewe of Hunters book on someone’s recommendation, though I was pretty underwhelmed. Even though the romance was lackluster and the writing was a bit stilted, I actually might try another in the series partly because the person who recommended it was so enthusiastic and partly because I really liked the premise. But, it’s definitely a reading desert in my house lately. 🙁

Last night I finished A Little Too Far by Lisa Desrochers which I enjoyed.
Currently re-reading Mary Balogh’s Slightly Dangerous (a favorite of mine).

    Books recently read include:

Julie Anne Long’s historical romance It Started with a Scandal which was fun.
Anthony Doerr’s All the Light We Cannot See for my book group – a poignant read.
    Patricia Briggs’ Moon Called – a re-read.
