Holly: How is it already June? This year seems to be flying by. I managed to read 20 books in May, which I consider a minor miracle since 1) I only reread a couple books and 2) I’ve been swamped and had very little time to read. I guess those night I stayed up until 3am reading really paid off.

Crimson Debt by Evengeline Anderson | 3 out of 5
Three Hours by Dannika Dark | 4 out of 5
Four Days by Dannika Dark | 4 out of 5
Five Weeks by Dannika Dark | 3.75 out of 5
Six Months by Dannika Dark | 3.5 out of 5
Seven Years by Dannika Dark | 2.75 out of 5
Bound in Death by Cynthia Eden | 3 out of 5
Bound by the Night by Cynthia Eden | 3 out of 5
Bound in Sin by Cynthia Eden | 3.75 out of 5
Bound in Darkness by Cynthia Eden | 2.75 out of 5
Bound by Blood by Cynthia Eden | 4 out of 5
Undressed by Shannon Richard | 3.75 out of 5
Cat’s Lair by Christine Feehan | 3 out of 5
Mystery Man by Kristen Ashley (reread) | 4 out of 5
The Friend Zone by Kristen Ashley | 4.5 out of 5
Earth Bound by Christine Feehan | 3.75 out of 5
Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley | 4.25 out of 5
The Mistake by Elle Kennedy (re-read) | 4.5 out of 5
Sweet Dreams by Kristen Ashley (re-read) | 4 out of 5
The Hook Up by Kristen Callihan (reread) | 4 out of 5

My favorite (new) read of the month was The Friend Zone by Kristen Callihan. I adored Gray and Ivy. Great read. I also really loved Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley. Joker was a total surprise (in a good way) and I loved the heroine.

My least favorite read was probably Cat’s Lair by Christine Feehan. It isn’t the one I would rate the lowest grade-wise, but it was the biggest disappointment. I usually love her heroes, but I felt like this one was more asshole than alpha. Total bummer. I didn’t love Bound in Darkness by Cynthia Eden or Seven Years by Dannika Dark, either, but I liked them enough to continue reading the series, so I guess that says something.

Rowena: Where has the time gone? Seriously. I can’t believe that we’re nearing the end of the school year and within a few months, my daughter will be a Junior in High School. Oy. I’m getting so old.

Here’s what I read in June:

Midnight Pursuits (Killer Instincts #4) by Elle Kennedy | 4 out of 5
The Friend Zone (Game On #2) by Kristen Callihan | 4.5 out of 5
Frigid (Frigid #1) by J. Lynn (re-read) | 4.25 out of 5
Midnight Action (Killer Instincts #5) by Elle Kennedy | 4.25 out of 5
All Played Out (Rusk University #3) by Cora Carmack | 4.5 out of 5
Jesse’s Girl (Hundred Oaks #6) by Miranda Kenneally | 4 out of 5
Moonlight on Nightingale Way (On Dublin Street #6) by Samantha Young | 4.25 out of 5

I didn’t read much this month but what I did read, I enjoyed. My favorite read of the month is hard to pin down because I really loved two books so they both win. The Friend Zone by Kristen Callihan and All Played Out by Cora Carmack. Both are New Adult titles and both were highly enjoyable stories. I really loved both Gray and Ivy and then Mateo and Nell. Fun, fun reads.

My least favorite read of the month would probably be Midnight Pursuits by Elle Kennedy. It’s not a bad book, it’s actually good but I enjoyed the other books that I read last month a little more.

This month we’re giving away:

The Friend Zone by Kristen Callihan (digital download only)
All Played Out by Cora Carmack

If you want to be entered to win, leave a comment on this post telling us what your favorite – and least favorite – reads of the month were. Also, be sure to tell us what book you’re interested in reading. You can put your name in for more than one book, but you’ll only be allowed to win one, so choose wisely.

  1. My favorite read this month was Combative by Jay McLean! It was great! My least favorite was probably Hero by Samantha Young. It wasn’t bad-I just couldn’t get into it. I would LOVE to win a copy of The Friend Zone. I read the Hook up last month and thought it was GREAT!

I had a tie for my favorite books of May between The Mistake by Elle Kennedy and Taming the Legend by Kat Latham. My least favorite was Only a Promise by Mary Balogh. I usually love Balogh’s book but I barely got through this one. It was repetitive and there was just constant misunderstandings and intentional, unnecessary deception from both characters but the hero’s deception was just annoying while the heroine’s made me hate her.

I would love to win The Friend Zone!

Hmm, my favorite book was probably This Crumbling Pageant (The Fury Triad Book 1) by Patricia Burroughs which is described as a dark fantasy; it was an intriguing story. I also enjoyed Reluctantly Charmed: A Novel by Ellie O’Neill and C. S. Pacat’s Captive Prince.

My least favorite was An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir about which I’d heard good things. It was compelling, but I ended up not finishing it due to the violence.

I’d love to win a copy of The Friend Zone.

this was a terrible reading month for me. I only recorded 4 new books but I reread the Kate Daniel series too. All 4 books were great, so I’m going to say it’s a tie between Satisfaction by Sarah Mayberry and Bound to Be A Bride by Megan Mulry for best book and no worst book! I’d love to be entered for the Friend Zone. Have a very wonderful weekend!

I’m always on the lookout for books with lead characters older than 30, so I was thrilled to read Impervious by Laura Kirwan which is a UF book featuring a 50 YO female lead character. It was really good anyway, and that was just an extra bonus. In romance my favorites were Rock Hard by Nalini Singh and Taming the Legend by Kat Latham. Least favorite was Temptation by Robin Covington. Nothing wrong with it, it just didn’t grab me.

Am I missing something? I don’t see the rafflecopter. Well anyway, I would love to win either book. I’ve heard great things about The Friend Zone and I’ve been wanting to try Cora Carmack’s series.

my favorite reads in may was Losing It by Cora Carmack and Can’t Help Falling In Love by Bella Andre. I didn’t have a least favorite read this month everything I read was actually pretty good. I would love to win either of those books, they are both on my TBR and have not had a chance to get them yet.
