Holly: I didn’t get a chance to read as much as I would have liked this week. Things were crazy in my personal life, plus I’ve been trying out new e-reading apps (Nook, Kindle, UB Reader, Google Play Books, etc), which means I was switching back and forth so much I only partially read a lot of books. (I hope to do a post about my experiences  -and the pros and cons – of each…someday.)

I read Suddenly One Summer by Julie James, which prompted a re-read of Love Irresistibly  (there was an excerpt at the back of SOS, which is how that came about). LI is such a fun read, and SOS was truly wonderful. James writes such smart books. It’s hard not to love them. I also read The Deal by Elle Kennedy. Rowena has been raving about the book and I found it just as well done as she said. I loved the characters, the friendship and the overall story.

I also re-read Easy by Tammara Webber, since I was thinking about it after The Deal. I started Echoes by Laura K. Curtis, but I set it aside about 1/4 of the way in. The plot is a bit slow-moving, but I quit because I thought it was a paranormal (my fault for misreading the blurb) and I lost interest when I learned it wasn’t. I plan to go back to it later, when my expectations aren’t set on something else.

Last night I started Shards of Hope by Nalini Singh. ADEN!! I’m about halfway through and…yeah. It’s everything I’d hoped it would be.

Rowena: It’s been a slow reading week for me (what’s new?) because I’m wrapped up in my TV Shows. We had some good Olicity scenes last week on Arrow and then a Steroline love scene in a Steroline heavy episode on Vampire Diaries. My shipping heart has all but exploded all over the place so reading took a back seat this week.

The only book that I read this week is One of the Guys by Lisa Aldin (cute book!) but I just finished that book since I actually started it last week. Still, it was cute and cuddly and everything I like in my contemporary YA’s so kudos to Lisa Aldin on her debt book. Be on the look out for that review soon(ish). 🙂

I plan to get some reading done tonight since I have absolutely no plans. I can’t even remember the last time that I didn’t have anything basketball related going on over the weekend. This is great! I plan on digging into my eARC of Suddenly One Summer by Julie James and then finishing up Branded by Fire by Nalini Singh. I’m still reading the Psy/Changeling series (and I’m still loving it too). I can’t wait!

High school math teacher Chelsea Gardner has the perfect plan. She’s tired of dating all the wrong men, and after years of frustration, she’s developed a foolproof list of requirements for finding “The One.”
Bar owner Sebastian “Bash” Palmer finds Chelsea beautiful, smart and fun, but he thinks her list is ridiculous and unnecessary. Intent on proving Chelsea is looking for love in all the wrong ways, he offers to help her find the “perfect” man.

Chelsea knows Bash isn’t the right guy for her—he barely meets one of her criteria—but there’s something about the charismatic man that has her yearning for things that are most definitely not list approved.
Because sometimes, a relationship that looks totally wrong on paper can turn out incredibly right…

Tracy’s review of Love After All (Hope #4) by Jaci Burton

Chelsea Gardner knows what she wants in a man and she won’t settle for anything different. She even has a list of qualities and requirements to check off for when she goes on dates. The problem is that she’s incredibly attracted to local bar owner, Bash, and he fits NONE of the requirements. Chelsea has dated a lot in the past but after she makes her list and goes on a few more dates she gets frustrated. She decides to take Bash up on his friends with benefits offer until she finds Mr. Right but things go a little awry the closer the pair gets.

Bash is not looking for a relationship. He was married once and decided after his divorce that he was never going there again. He starts up with Chelsea and loves every minute of their time together. In fact he finds excuses to spend more and more time with her until they’re almost acting like…a couple.

Another great story in the Hope series. I really liked Bash and Chelsea together and thought that they played off of each other really well.

Chelsea, at first, was a hard pill to swallow. I think she was SO focused on her list that it started to annoy me. Especially as I could see that what/who she needed (Bash) was right in front of her. Eventually she calmed down and I liked her a whole lot better.

Bash was hot and sexy and a really good guy. He had his issues but he was willing to work them out and I admired him for that. I loved how he loved that little dog of his (Lou) as it showed what a kind person he was.

Overall a great book and a nice addition to the series.
