Rowena: I’m surprised at how much reading I’m getting done in the month of December. Usually, I’m not reading anything because I’m too busy with Christmas type things or getting blog stuff done before the end of the year but that’s not the case this year.
This week I finished up the Ivy Years series by Sarina Bowen by reading The Understatement of the Year. It was my first m/m book and I enjoyed the romance between Graham and Rikker. I thought that Graham took his time coming out of the closet but in the end, Rikker’s happiness was all that mattered to me. I thought they were pretty great together and enjoyed their story.
I also read Things We Know by Heart by Jessi Kirby which is a 2015 release. It was a fantastic story about a young girl finding love again after her boyfriend died…with the boy who got her boyfriend’s heart. It was an angsty read that I really enjoyed. So good.
Right now, I’m reading Heat of the Moment by Lauren Barnholdt. I’ve only read the first two chapters so I don’t know much but I hope the protagonist shapes up better as the story progresses because right now I kind of want to strangle her.
Holly: That Jessi Kirby book sounds good. I’m going to go look that up right now.
Rowena is doing all the reading for us this month. I’m barely reading at all. Last week I read Hero by Samantha Young, which was just okay, Opening Up by Lauren Dane, which I adored, and re-read Bowen’s The Ivy Years series so I could review them with Rowena. Then I read Dead Heat by Patricia Briggs, the upcoming Alpha and Omega book, and it ruined me for all other books. I’ve done a couple re-reads since the, but nothing worth mentioning.
My hope is to make up my reading the next two weeks. We’re hosting Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner at our house again this year, but after that it should be pretty quiet around here. Hopefully.

I am reading the Ballybeg series by Zara Keane – the first one was hilarious! 😀 I won the first 2 books in a comp . . but shall be getting the rest of the series!
I have those in my TBR after Tracy’s review the other day. I’ll have to bump them up.
I’m reading Kelley Armstrong’s Otherworld Nights: An Anthology. I do love her Otherworld characters. Some great backstories here.
Rowena, isn’t The Understatement of the Year absolutely gorgeous? All the books in that series, as far as I’m concerned, are excellent. I can’t wait for Bella’s book, btw
I really enjoyed the entire series. My favorite book was The Year We Hid Away but my favorite guy is Hartley. Rikker was pretty awesome too. I adored Bella and cannot wait for her story. Do you think Dash is going to get his own book…or do you think Dash might be Bella’s guy? I’m so anxious.
I think Dash has a lot of growing up to do, plus he’s a sophomore and Bella a junior, I believe? I’d rather he has his own story–even a shorter one.
At this point, Bella totally deserves better than him.
