A Joss and Braden Novella

Braden Carmichael never imagined he’d fall as hard and as fast as he did for Jocelyn Butler. He also could not have anticipated how difficult it would be to convince her to give in to love. But now that he has her, he’s never letting go. He’s got it all planned—the passionate proposal, the dream wedding, the sexy Hawaiian honeymoon—even the perfect family they’ll start.

After trying to flee from her painful past, Joss is finally allowing herself to embrace the future. But when things start moving faster than she anticipated, she finds herself panicking over something Braden can’t understand. After everything they’ve been through, Joss is sure that their love can survive even her worst fears. But, this time, she may push Braden too far—and risk losing everything all over again…

This is a short story that peeks into where Joss and Braden are after their book, On Dublin Street. They get engaged, they get married, they go on their honeymoon and they receive some interesting news that Joss kind of mini-freaks out about and turns Braden into a douche. For such a short story, Samantha Young did a great job of packing in the drama. Joss and Braden are not new to drama and angst but it was good that it was Braden’s turn to turn on the dumb. Joss and Braden together are good and they’re solid so it was nice to see them stumble a little even after their “happy ending” because that kept them real and interesting.

It was good to see Ellie again and to hear about what everyone else is up to but I feel like, I’m good with where Braden and Joss are so I’m kind of wanting to move on from them. Let them enjoy their happy ending and meet some new characters. Still, this was a cute story and I think fans of Joss and Braden will definitely enjoy it.
