Rowena:

January was a good reading month for me….I may not have read very many books (slow start for me) but the quality of books that I read was good.  It’s kind of hard to pick a favorite of the books I read because I enjoyed most of them but if I had to choose, I’d probably choose either Attachments by Rainbow Rowell, Once in a Lifetime by Jill Shalvis or Breaking the Rules by Suzanne Brockmann.

My least favorite book is easier to choose.  That one goes to An Outlaw in Wonderland by Lori Austin.  It just didn’t work for me.  I couldn’t get into it, I couldn’t connect with any of the characters and I quit it about a third of the way in.

Holly: I had a pretty good reading month. I managed 17 books. Things started off slow with me doing  a lot of re-reading, but picked up later in the month.

  • Night Broken by Mercy Thompson
  • Cole’s Redemption by J.D. Tyler
  • Letting Go by Maya Banks
  • Unraveled by Jen Frederick
  • Fighting Love by Abby Niles
  • Last Hit by Jessica Clare and Jen Frederick (DNF)
  • Love a Little Sideways by Shannon Stacey
  • Britton by Abby Niles
  • Finding It by Cora Carmack
  • Frigid by J.Lynn
  • Forgotten Sins by Rebecca Zanetti
  • Own the Wind by Kristen Ashley (re-read)
  • Never Stopped Loving You by Keri Ford
  • Down London Road by Samanta Young (re-read)
  • Easy by Tammara Webber (re-read)
  • Games of the Heart by Kristen Ashley (re-read)
  • Wildest Dreams by Kristen Ashley

I included Last Hit by Jessica Clare and Jen Frederick in my list even though I didn’t finish it because I read over 150 pages.

My favorite reads of the month were Love a Little Sideways. I adore the Kowalski’s and had a blast on vacation with them.

My least favorite was Forgotten Sins. I just can’t do romantic suspense. My second least favorite was Never Stopped Loving You. The romance, setting and plot were all problematic for me.

This month we’re giving away:

Love a Little Sideways by Shannon Stacey (e-copy)
Once in a Lifetime by Jill Shalvis

If you want to be entered to win, leave a comment on this post telling us what your favorite – and least favorite – reads of the month were. Also, be sure to tell us what book you’re interested in reading. You can put your name in for more than one book, but you’ll only be allowed to win one, so choose wisely.

So…what was your favorite read of the month? And your least favorite?

My Favorite book this month was The Haunting of Maddy Clair by Simone St James. Least Favorite was The Summer of France by Paulita Kincer.

  2. Kate Mann

My favorite book this month was Texas Hold ‘Em by Christie Craig, I couldn’t put it down! Would love to read Once in a Lifetime by Jill Shalvis!

  3. LSUReader

January was a slow reading month for me. I read only nine books. My least favorite was Gareth, by Grace Burrowes. That floored me, because I generally LOVE her books. She wrote two of my 2013 favorites. My favorites for January were Jennifer Estep’s The Spider and Cathy Maxwell’s The Bride Says No. If I win, I’d like Love a Little Sideways.

And Holly–you said you don’t usually enjoy romantic suspense, but have you tried Laura Griffin’s Tracers series?

  4. Anita H.

My favorite read in January was Pamela Palmer’s A Love Untamed and my least favorite read was…well I actually don’t have one! All the books I read last month have been fantastic books by authors I love.

I’d love to win both books but I’d choose Jill Shalvis first. Her Lucky Harbor books are so good!

Ohh I read so many good books last month, really made some good headway on my TBR pile. My favorite would probably be Julie James’ Love Irresistibly. I just love that series. If I had to pick a least favorite, I guess I’d choose Margaret Mallory’s The Warrior only due to the fact that it wasn’t as good as the previous 2 books in that series. But as much as it’s my least favorite, I still enjoyed it!

Thank you for the chance to win! I enjoy both Jill Shalvis and Shannon Stacey’s books. My preference would be to win Once In A Lifetime by Jill Shalvis first 🙂

My favorite read this month was The Luckiest Lady in London by Sherry Thomas and my least favorite read was Wild Child by Molly O’Keefe. In the latter book, I was surprised that none of the characters were likeable. I’ve enjoyed her other books, but the characters in this one just didn’t work for me.

I’d like to win Once in a Lifetime by Jill Shalvis first, then Love a Little Sideways by Shannon Stacey. Thanks.

I read a few good books last month. My favorites were Fairies in My Fireplace, a UF by RL Naquin and The Duchess War by Courtney Milan, which featured a virgin hero – a particular weakness of mine when it comes to romance LOL. I would love to win either book since I enjoy reading both authors very much.

  8. Christy

My favorite this month was The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion, it was a sweet, thoughtful read. My least favorite was Dare to Love by Carly Philips (although I often enjoy her books), I just couldn’t get past the lust at first sight and making all future decisions based on that theme. I’m dying to read Once in a Lifetime! Thanks!
