Jordan Cross has returned to Holiday, Montana after eleven long years to clear out her late aunt’s house, put it on the market, and figure out what she wants to do with the rest of her life. Soon, she finds herself facing the town that turned its back on her because she was different. Because being labeled a witch in a small town didn’t earn her many friends…especially when it wasn’t a lie.

Matt Cooper has lived in Holiday his whole life. He’s perfectly content being a bachelor alongside his four single brothers in a very small town. After all, the only woman he’d ever loved ran out on him without a goodbye. But now Jordan’s back and just as bewitching as ever. Can they rekindle their romance with a town set against them?

Jordan is back in Holiday, Montana to clean up her grandmother’s house, sell it and then get the hell out of dodge once again. Holiday was the town that Jordan grew up in but the people there were never nice to her once they found out she was a witch. Now she’s back after 11 years just hoping to keep her head down and then move on.

Matt Cooper has other ideas about what Jordan should do. They resume their friendship but underneath that is the burning attraction they had for each other when they went out in high school. Matt’s cautious though since Jordan left town all that time ago without a word to him and he needs to protect his heart this time.

They’re both also carrying secrets around and neither one wants to share.

This is the first book in the series about Holiday, Montana. From what I can tell the series will be based around the five Cooper brothers who we met in this book. I liked them, from what I saw but though they were involved in the story we didn’t see them in depth.

Matt seemed like a great guy. He had a sense of humor and was hard working. He had a pretty huge secret that he had kept for 11 years though and the fact that he never told ANYONE was a bit of a stretch for me, especially since he and his brothers were so close.

Jordan is a character that I never really learned to love. She was bitchy at first but with every reason. She had been treated badly and was leery to have that happen again, I get that, but once she was there for a while and got some friends why was she still such a wench? I’d say witch but that’s truly what she was. Lol One of the main things was how she needed to practice her witchcraft in order to control it and at one point she decided to do that. Unfortunately it wasn’t mentioned after that at all and I found that bit strange. Then there was something that happened at the end of the book that was completely out of the blue (regarding Jordan). I can’t tell you what it was since that would be a major spoiler but quite frankly I was stunned. I honestly said to myself, “that would never happen in a million years” but then again, it’s fiction so anything’s possible. Lol

Overall it was a cute book but it didn’t knock my socks off. I’d like to know what happens with Matt’s brother Tyler so I may read more in the future.

  1. I read this last night. OMG was I annoyed over the way the town kowtowed to the mayor. Uh..how is it legal that he can demand someone be arrested? Or tear down a house someone lives in and is in the process of renovating? Crap that like annoys the crap out of me.

And don't get me started on the ridiculous way Jordan and Matt acted at different times. Morons, both.

Having said that..I did think the premise was a good one and I wouldn't mind reading another of the books to see if she improves.
