Book Watch: How My Summer Went Up in Flames by Jennifer Salvato Doktorski

Rosie’s always been impulsive. She didn’t intend to set her cheating ex-boyfriend’s car on fire. And she never thought her attempts to make amends could be considered stalking. So when she’s served with a temporary restraining order on the first day of summer vacation, she’s heartbroken—and furious.

To put distance between Rosie and her ex, Rosie’s parents send her on a cross-country road trip with responsible, reliable neighbor Matty and his two friends. Forget freedom of the road, Rosie just wants to hitchhike home and win back her ex. But with every mile marker that passes, Rosie discovers a new sense of self…and that sometimes the best revenge is moving on.

Thanks to Lauren over at Lauren’s Crammed Bookshelf for alerting me to this book. I hadn’t heard of it before seeing it featured on her blog but boy do I want to read it (like now!). This book comes out on May 7, 2013 and it’s a road trip book so automatically, I’m all about it! I so want to read this book! Rosie seems like she’d be a fun character (unintentional stalker and all, haha) and I’d love to see what happens between her and Matty (if anything).

…and that’s your scoop!

This book is available from Simon Pulse.

  1. LOL Alex, I did the same thing! I love road trip novels.

This book sounds cute BUT I don’t like the heroine starting off sounding so…I don’t want to say obsessed but what’s the thing that’s a step below that? – on her ex. I don’t like girls like that.

But the cuteness factor definitely outweighs that so yeah, I’m looking forward to this one.

  2. My reaction is the same as both Alex and Ames LOL. Like that it’s a roadtrip book, but obsessed with her ex, meh. Well guess I’ll be able to wait till the three of you read it before I pick it up 🙂
