Patricia Briggs, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Mercy Thompson novels, "always enchants her readers." (Lynn Viehl, New York Times bestselling author) Now her Alpha and Omega series-set in a world of shifting shapes, loyalty, and passion- brings werewolves out of the darkness and into a society where fear and prejudice could make the hunters prey...
They say opposites attract. And in the case of werewolves Anna Latham and Charles Cornick, they mate. The son-and enforcer-of the leader of the North American werewolves, Charles is a dominant alpha. While Anna, an omega, has the rare ability to calm others of her kind.
Now that the werewolves have revealed themselves to humans, they can't afford any bad publicity. Infractions that could have been overlooked in the past must now be punished, and the strain of doing his father's dirty work is taking a toll on Charles.
Nevertheless, Charles and Anna are sent to Boston, when the FBI requests the pack's help on a local serial killer case. They quickly realize that not only the last two victims were werewolves-all of them were. Someone is targeting their kind. And now Anna and Charles have put themselves right in the killer's sights...

Can I just say, I did NOT see that twist at the end coming. Whoa. I’m so anxious for the next book to find out what happens next!

Anna and Charles are still learning each other. I like that the going is slow, but I’m a little surprised they aren’t doing better with each other since they’ve now been together two years. I guess it makes sense since Charles has been keeping himself cut off from Anna for the last year, but I guess I expected things to be less awkward between them.

I really like the world Briggs has created. We saw more of it in this novel, since the conflict is away from the pack. It did seem like the final conflict was…not anti-climatic, exactly, but a bit less exciting than I expected given the build up. The villains weren’t a surprise, so maybe that’s why I struggled with it? The very last twist is what got me. I didn’t see that coming at all.

Another strong entry in the series. I couldn’t put it down.

  1. I love these books- and i might add- i got each of them signed at recent book signing! Patricia Briggs is the best. :).

I agree, The ending to Fair Game? Epic. Cant wait to see how this plays out in Mercy’s world too!

since Briggs has synced up the timelines between the Mercys and this series, I would be surprised if the twist at the end isnt a major plot point in the next Mercy book..

It effects so many of Mercys friends (this not spoiling crap is HARD.)
