Avon is hosting a promotional blog tour for Tessa Dare’s new book coming out today, A Week to be Wicked. Here at Book Binge, we’re delighted to be a part of the tour.

Ready for a little taste of what to expect with A Week to be Wicked? Check it out:

From the Journal of Minerva Highwood:

Oh, this day! This wretched, wretched, neverending day. If it weren’t imperative to keep moving, I’d pin Lord Payne to a specimen board and pull the truth from his roguish, deceitful self. I am a naturalist, and he is…unnatural. Like a geyser of balderdash, that man.

Everyone we meet gets a different story. “I’m a missionary! No, I’m an exiled prince! Wait, I’m a lost, tortured soul in need of a woman’s love.”

I know the truth. He’s just a scoundrel. He’ll say anything to anyone, if it suits his purpose. Just in the course of our journey today, I observed that he’s made no less than four women fall in stupidly love with him. If those same women spent more than an hour in his presence, however, I’m certain they’d fall out of it just as quickly.

My own absurd infatuation should pop like a soap bubble any moment.

Do you travel well with others, or would you rather strike out alone? Just leave a comment on this here post, answering the question and your name will be dropped into the hat.

Also, be sure to catch the next stop in the blog tour, RT Reviews. You won’t want to miss out on more Tessa Dare’s Spindle Cove goodness!

  1. I love traveling with a large group of people. Vacations are so much fun – and I love surrounding myself with people I love the most to experience it with me!

I travel well with others, but actually prefer to travel alone. I like to explore and discover without having to worry if someone else wants to do something else.

  3. My husband and I have taken cruises with groups of friends and enjoyed them quite well. Unfortunately, some people you go with want to be in your back pocket the whole time. I find this can be overwhelming and therefore, the last two cruises my husband and I have taken have been just the two of us. We much prefer it as we can be spontaneous about what we want to do during the day. In addition, we now feel that we open our attention and get to know other people around us. Friendships are great but too much togetherness can be a bit confining.

I’m more of an loner when it comes to traveling-I find it easier to meet people and do what I want, when I want to-plus there is the added bonus that I can accidently sneak into non public places.

Yeh, I did that at the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg-diverted from our authorized tour guide when she wasn’t looking and found the private quarters of the Romanov’s. No one was more shocked then the guard to find this cute American girl poking around, and let me take as long as I wanted to see it. Ok, maybe the cigarette bribe might have helped smooth things over..(ah, the good old days..)

Of course, if it is someplace romantic, I will bring my husband along!

What a wonderful blogtour and great excerpt 😛
“Wait, I’m a lost, tortured soul in need of a woman’s love.” lol

I’ve always found it funny that when I travel with friends we have endless chatter and fun. But, if I go on extended trips w/ the hubby we get snippy with each other eventually. We are fine when we get to where we’re going (and forget about the spats) it’s just the getting there that gets us. Me the control freak and him the fly by the seat of his pants don’t mesh sometimes.
I love my hubby and love traveling w/ him more then with others, but we would be those couples on Amazing Race who yell at each other in tense situations. lol

I travel pretty well with some people, but’s always good to have some alone time. Everybody just needs to be willing to compromise about what to do. I’m fine breaking off for some activities, but I do like company for meals in restaurants.

The hubby is my prefect travel partner – I wouldn’t want to take a trip without him! We both love traveling so much that our excitement rubs off on one another.

  8. I like it both ways – my husband and I have so much fun traveling together, but a solo trip can be pretty darn awesome too!

I travel much better with others. I’m a nervous traveler, so the more distractions the better. I always bring a book with me to help me feel at ease and I love Tessa Dare’s books!

  10. I am a mix of both… I like to travel with others but I need my me time so I don’t hurt anyone.

  11. I prefer to travel with others, particularly on trips where there is not a whole lot of scenery–company helps break up the monotony!

  12. You know, I don’t often travel with others. Not for long distances, at least. Other than with family, and that’s only every few years. With the latter case, we’re always driving. And I just knock out. (I get car sick.)
If this blog were in ~3 weeks I could tell you because I have to be stuck in a clown car with people I don’t know/like for 15 hours… EACH WAY. Bookending a wedding I don’t want to go to, or be in.
… Ok – so I guess I can say for this trip? *I* will probably be the miserable companion. I’m hoping I can take something like dramamine or benadryl to knock me out though.

So maybe it’s more car rides? I’m not much companionship. Flights? Yeah. 😀 I’m fun.

  13. Probably with people. But only one or two that I know really well. Otherwise I might leave them somewhere if they are too annoying 🙂

  14. I’m the odd one out, because I *love* to travel alone. I do enjoy traveling with my family and husband, too – but when I’m by myself, there’s no bickering. No disagreements over where to eat, or what sight to see next. 🙂 It has its perks!

I went to England by myself a few years ago. When I was in my 20s, I once went camping in Northern California by myself for a week. (Although I shudder to think about that now – I had no cell phone or anything!)

  15. And I got so excited chiming in on the topic, I forgot my main reason for commenting –

Which was to say THANK YOU to BookBinge for hosting this! You ladies are great.

  16. I love travelling with the people that I like and love, preferable my husband who is also my best friend. We have long realized that travelling keeps our relationship fresh and we tend to treat each other better even after the trip.

Travelling alone does not suit me at all as I will end up staying in my hotel room reading a book! And that is not fun WHEN travelling.

  17. I’ve done both. Although it was more freeing to travel by myself (change of plans? no problem), it was more fun and safer with at least another person. Plus, if they’re family, you could bug them about it for decades to come. 🙂

I prefer to travel with my family when i go on vacations. I love making memories and taking pictures
    of us when we travel.

  19. As long as there is travel involved I am good in a group or alone.
There is nothing like going on a trip with my kids, showing them stuff and seeing things through their eyes.
But at the same time, travelling alone in silence with a book to keep me company is lovely too.

  20. My mother always said you never really know someone until you travel with them or marry them. 🙂

I took my first trip alone–when I was 26. It was maybe the best experience of my life. I could go where I wanted when I wanted. Stay in front of a single artwork for as long as I wanted without hearing my friends’/family members’ grumblings. It was delicious.

  21. Do you travel well with others, or would you rather strike out alone?

i tend to strike out on my own.. but definitely wouldn’t mind a companion they just need to be super flexible and a free spirit to keep up 🙂 !!

  22. I cannot believe that my post was just eaten by Google Blogger!

Anyway I wrote a lovely response that I am not going to try to duplicate. So let me just say that I love to travel and prefer seeing new places with my family or in a group.

  23. I don’t get to travel, unless it’s out shopping locally, but bickering is just part of the banter…makes things more interesting, imo!

  24. LizM

I enjoy traveling alone, but I love trips with family and friends. No bickering, though I admit some people are easier to travel with than others.

  25. Fun post and giveaway!

I’d have to say that for the most part I travel well with others. Just as long as it’s not too long, I’m not tired or hungry… lol… 🙂

  26. Hmm… let me think a moment.

I believe I travel well with others, but the more shared interests we have, the better it is to accommodate them in other areas.

It would be very difficult for me to travel to, say Paris, with someone who wanted only to shop, as for me the appeal would be in monuments and museums.

Thank you for the chance to win!

  27. Na

I ravel well with a close friend of two. I like to take in the sights and it’s much more fun in smaller groups. I do travel well with people and choose my travel companions with care.

  28. Thank you for posting such a great little snippet of “A Week To Be Wicked”. I’ve now added this book to my “wish list”.

I much prefer to travel with somebody else, especially as I only travel to England. I get a little bit nervous going by myself, so it’s nice to know that I have somebody else with me who will keep me grounded and focused and also keep me distracted and entertained should I start to panic.

Thank you for this amazing contest.

I think I travel well with others. I enjoy the company of others, so prefer to travel with friends rather than striking out alone.

  30. For the most part, i like to travel alone or with a few people. Though if im traveling with a group of people and there bickering (and if there entertaining) sign me up to travel with them! lol Thanks for sharing. Sounds great!! And thank you for the wonderful giveaway!
