Rowena’s review of Reunion (Mediator #3) by Meg Cabot.

Main Character: Susannah Simon
Love Interest: ??
Series: Mediators, Book 3
Author: Facebook|Twitter|Goodreads

The RLS Angels are out for blood, and only Suze can stop them—since she’s the only one who can see them. The four ghostly teenagers died in a terrible car accident, for which they blame Suze’s classmate Michael… and they’ll stop at nothing until he’s joined them in the realm of the dead.

As Suze desperately fends off each attempt on Michael’s life, she finds she can relate to the Angels’ fury. Because their deaths turn out not to have been accidental at all. And their killer is only too willing to strike again.

This is my favorite book of the series so far.

I’ve been reading non stop when I started reading this series. I just keep right on gobbling these books up.

The third book in the mediator series is another adventure that Father Junipero Serra Mission Academy Sophomore Susannah Simon has to fight her way through.

You see, there are 4 teenagers who were killed in a car accident and are pissed to high heaven that they’re not reading or willing to move over to the other side until they avenge their own deaths by killing the other person driving the car that caused their own car to fly over the cliff near their make out spot.

So Susannah finds out about all of this and tries to save Michael from the numerous attempts on his life. He takes all of this protection from Suze as interest in him and it all goes straight to his head.

But seeing Suze work her way through this mystery and then solving it and going after the person involved in putting the people she loves in danger had me rootin’ her on and cheering when she gets in her serious Buffy the Ghost Slayer frame of mind. She is a wonder and so kick ass, I’m sometimes jealous that I can’t be that great, haha.

What I liked most in this book was how close Jesse and Suze are getting. They have come a long way from the first book and in the third book, you can see just how much they care for each other, even though they can’t ever be together with him being a ghost and her being alive and all. I’m longing for them to be together, for them to find a way to be together that I’m seriously biting at the bit to hurry up with this review so that I can get to the fourth book already.

And dude, I just read the back of the fourth book and HOLY HELL it can only get better. Because, seriously???? Maria de Silva? HOLY WOW, you just know it’s gonna be good stuff.

In any book that I read, if the family connection is strong, I’m gonna like it and this book is no different. Suze’s family may be an after the fact family, a ready made family, one that wasn’t born together but they definitely stay together. I love how Jake has dropped the step in front of sister where Suze is concerned and I totally love how he calls Suze’s Mom, Mom. I think it’s so frickin’ the bomb that he’s protective of his step sister even though she does some really hoey things, like going out with the guy that her Mother distinctly told her to stay away from.

It’s great.

I even like how protective Suze continues to be over David. And then her relationship with Brad? It’s just all good good stuff and I totally dig it.

It’s part of why I am so absorbed in this series, it’s just good, wholesome fun and adventures and Suze never ceases to make me crack the hell up. She’s one funny chick.

This was another winner and I totally loved it!

Read this series and you can even pimp this series to your teenage kids, sisters, nieces, cousins, whatever..the whole family can enjoy this series, seriously!

..and that’s your scoop!

I love that you’re loving this series and you’re making me want to re-read them books!

Oh, Darkest Hour is awesome I’m sure you’re gonna love it!!! 😀 There are MANY developments.

As for Reunion, I like it a lot, it’s fun and crazy and you’re right, Suze’s brothers rock – except for Brad who’s just annoying but in a brotherly way!
    😀

  2. I haven’t been much of a Meg Cabot fan, but I enjoyed reading your review. Maybe if I have some extra time this year, I’ll give this series a try.

@Alex: Haha, re-reading this reviews brings back total memories of when I read them. Goodness, I am such a Meg Cabot whore. I’ll read anything she puts out and will probably love the heck out of it!

@Rita: Thanks for stopping by, you should definitely read this series if you want something cute, funny and full of mystery, this has got them all. If you’re looking for something older by Meg Cabot, then I recommend reading the Heather Well series. I adore that series and she’s got a fourth book coming out this summer. Woot!
