Izzy Zanella wasn’t looking for another reason to butt heads with his Navy SEAL teammate, and nemesis, Danny Gillman. But then he met Danny’s beautiful younger sister, Eden. When she needed it most, he offered her a place to stay, a shoulder to cry on—and more. And when she got pregnant with another man’s child, he offered her marriage. But Eden’s devastating miscarriage shattered their life together—and made the intense bad blood between Izzy and Danny even worse.

Now Eden’s back, and she’s on a mission to rescue her teen brother, Ben, from their abusive stepfather. Even if she and Izzy can prove that their broken marriage is still in one piece, winning legal custody of Ben is a long shot. But they’re not alone: Danny and his girlfriend, Jenn, offer to help, and he and Izzy agree to bury the past and fight for Ben’s future.

As they plan their strategy, Izzy and Eden grapple with the raw passion that still crackles between them—while Danny and Jenn confront new depths in their own rocky relationship. But events take a terrifying turn after Ben befriends a girl fleeing a child prostitution ring. When the young runaway seeks refuge with Eden and Izzy, her pursuers kidnap Ben—and a deadly standoff begins. Now they must all pull together like never before and strike back, swift and hard, to protect their unconventional little family and everything they hold most precious.

This book comes out on March 22, 2011. I’ve been most anxious for this book because it’s Izzy’s book. Words can’t explain how flippin’ excited I am to finally get Izzy’s story. I’m super jazzed to get more of Danny and Jenn’s story as well. Danny has a lot to make up for and I look forward to seeing him grovel some in this book and it’ll be good to see Eden again now. I know that she wasn’t a fan favorite to be Izzy’s heroine but I don’t mind. I would have been happy with whoever Suz picked for his heroine, I’m easy like that.

Mark your calendars readers, we’re getting more Troubleshooter action in just a few weeks. I can’t flippin’ wait!

This book is available from Ballantine. You can pre-order it here or here in e-format.

Ooooo, CAN. NOT. WAIT! And am so relieved that it’s Izzy and Eden, because I was afraid she was going to mess with that. I didn’t mind last time, but would have been a dealbreaker here.

Have to wonder if she’s going to do something with the major piece of misinformation from their last book (SPOILER – that you can tell a stillborn baby’s race by looking at it–total nonsense, and I’m so curious about whether she’ll come back to it.) — willaful

  2. I’m excited…and not. YAY for it being Izzy’s book. But I was an Eden hater. I really hope Brockmann can make her worthy of Izzy. I heart him.

I am also looking forward to this book. I have not read all the Troubleshooters books (some just did not interest me enough) but I did enjoy ‘Hot Pursuit’. I got the cliff-notes version of the Izzy/Eden/Danny story from there and really liked the Danny/Jenn storyline and am eager to read more about them in ‘Breaking the Rules’.

  4. I am so ready for some more Troubleshooters!! I have all of the books in this series and I’m just about ready to start on my third read of them. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

  5. I’m torn about this one.

For one thing, I have loved all of the Troubleshooters book up to Dark of Night–which I liked, but had issues with.

Mostly because of those issues, I’ve yet to read Hot Pursuit, so I’m not up to date with anything Danny/Jenn related.

Then there’s the fact that this comes out on my b-day and that, if I were willing to drive a couple of hours each way, I could attend the evening signing in Sarasota and get both the book and the related booklet (with an Adam and Tony story, which I’m curious about).

(Alternatively, of course, there is Ms Brockmann’s virtual signing–but that means paying full cover price plus priority mail shipping. Way too expensive for me.)

In the end, due to limited book budget, I pre-ordered Breaking the Rules from amazon, along with a mmpb copy of Hot Pursuit–with any luck, they’ll get here sometime before April, and I’ll just have to live without Tony and Adam’s short story. *sigh*
