Here we go….The best books we read in 2010:

Holly
The hardest part for me is deciding what order they go in.

1. The Iron Duke by Meljean Brook
2. Water Bound by Christine Feehan
3. Welcome to Harmony by Jodi Thomas
4. Moon Craving by Lucy Monroe
5. Meet Me in Manhattan by Judith Arnold

Meet Me in Manhattan is kind of the wild card here. At the time I read it, I wouldn’t have said it was one of the best books of the year. But looking back, it’s one that really stayed with me. The emotions of the characters really stuck with me and even now I can remember with clarity how I was feeling while reading it. That’s a pretty awesome thing.

Honorable mentions to go Song of Seduction by Carrie Lofty, Cold Sight by Leslie Parrish, Love in the Afternoon by Lisa Kleypas, Knight of Desire by Margaret Mallory.

Rowena
In no particular order.

1. Lessons from a Scarlet Lady by Emma Wildes
2. Ten Ways to be Adored when Landing a Lord by Sarah MacLean
3. Married by Morning by Lisa Kleypas
4. Passions of a Wicked Earl by Lorraine Heath
5. Something About You by Julie James

For me, 2010 was the year of the historicals for me. I read quite a bit of historicals and loved a whole lot of them too.

I can’t put them in order. It’s hard enough for me to choose.

Play of Passion by Nalini Singh
Marry Me by Jo Goodman
Beyond the Night by Joss Ware
Sin Undone by Larissa Ione
Demon From the Dark by Kresley Cole

Quite the array of paranormals for me.

What were your top five for 2010?

  1. I only read a handful of those! I should check them out soon.

I did make a list, but don’t think I put them in order. I remember I put Married by Morning, All I ever wanted by Kristan Higgins and Insatiable – in the adult front.

  2. Great lists! More than a few there that I need to check out.

Only 5? I’m extra weasly this year, and having trouble keeping it to 5 per subgenre!

A couple at the top, though, would be Stacia Kane’s Chess Putnam series and Nicole Peeler’s Jane True series.

  3. MJFredrick

Not sure I can narrow it down to 5! I loved Happy Ever After and The Search by La Nora. The Gail Carringer Parasol Protectorate series, The Hunger Games series, The Ghost Exterminator by Vivi Andrews, and Exclusively Yours by Shannon Stacey.

  4. Rowena’s favorites, The Iron Duke, Play of Passion and Demons From the Dark all in my top faves for the year. My top five:

    1. The Summer of You by Kate Noble
    2. I Kissed an Earl by Julie Anne Long
    3. Pleasures of a Notorious Gentleman by Lorraine Heath
    4. Married by Morning by Lisa Kleypas
    5. Love in the Afternoon by Lisa Kleypas.

  5. Darn! I was hoping to see my book listed here!! LOL!!

Some of my favs this year: The Queen of Babble series by Meg Cabot, The Uglies series by Scot Westerfeld, and The Duff by Kody Kelpinger.

  6. Rowena

@MJ: I loved the Hunger Games series too. I was bummed with the way the third book came out but still, overall that series was fanfrickintastic!

@Alex: I loved the books you mentioned, especially Married by Morning. How freaking adorable was Leo? And how far did he come from the first book? LOVE HIM!

@Renee: Hey you! Yes, I recommend all of the books that I put up on my list!

    @Pam: I love your list!

  7. Rowena

Oh man, I love the Queen of Babble series by Meg Cabot. I haven’t read the Uglies series but I want to. I also want to read The Duff, I’ve heard nothing but good things about that book. Must get on that.
