What Are You Reading? 12-5-10

Holly: I want to say Happy Birthday to my amazing daughter. She’s 14 today. I’m feeling a lot stressed over this, but also kind of proud and sappy. She’s a wonderful girl and I’m so glad to call her mine. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TG!

Yesterday one of the area libraries was having a book sale. Paperbacks were $.10 and hardcovers were $.50. I took TG so she could get some books (she reads just as much as I do..and almost as fast) and found quite a few for myself. One of the books I picked up was Home for the Holidays by Sarah Mayberry. I really like SM and I was excited to find a book by her I hadn’t read yet. It was really good.

Yesterday I also read Then He Kissed Me by Christie Ridgway, the second book in her Three Kisses series. I really enjoyed it. I’m loving the setting (Napa Valley) and the relationship between the sisters. Ridgway really excels at writing deep characters in a light setting and this was another winner. I’m just sorry I have to wait until June for the 3rd book.

Casee: I’m reading Ruthless Game by Christine Feehan. I think I’m growing out of this series. It’s just Carpathians but with psychics. I’m not sure what I’m going to try next. Nothing is really jumping out at me right now.

Rowena: Its been a slow week of reading for me. After all of the books I read last week, this week I hardly read at all. I just finished reading The Boyfriend of the Month Club by Maria Geraci (she’s guest blogging this week!). It was cute and now I’m going to finish Single in the City by Michele Gorman.

Holly, I love Sarah Mayberry’s books! Home for the Holidays was sweet. Have you read the three books in her Secret Lives of Daytime Divas series (Take On Me, All Over You, Hot for Him)? They’re some of my favorite books from the Harlequin Blaze line.

I started SEP’s What I Did for Love, but haven’t gotten very far. I want to get acquainted with Meg Koranda before Call Me Irresistible comes out. I was reading Glitter Baby before (about Meg’s parents), but switched to WIDFL instead.

  2. Just started Honky Tonk Christmas by Carolyn Brown and am enjoying it.

I read the first one and have he middle 2 but since it it Christmas, had to read this one.

    Happy Bday to your daughter.

Red Rose by Mary Balogh. Don’t think it’s going to be one of my top favs, but it’s pretty good. She rocks the “Hero and heroine think they hate each other” theme. — willaful
