Rowena’s review of Truly Madly Yours by Rachel Gibson.

Hero: Nick Allegrezza
Heroine: Delaney Shaw

WHERE THER’S A WILL. . .
When pretty hairdresser Delaney Shaw returned home to Truly, Idaho, for the reading of her stepfather’s will, she planned on paying her respects and getting out of town. But it seems the will has some unexpected stipulations-like the one that says if Delaney wants her inheritance she needs to stay put and have nothing to so with sexy Nick Allegrezza. . .for an entire year!
THERE’S NO WAY
Ten years ago, Nick had swept Delaney off her feet and onto his Harley, and that’s when she really let her down her Hair! Back then, he was a love-’em-and-leave-’em man, and Delaney learned the hard way that she was just a fling. But Nick is as irresistible as ever. And when the ladies at Tuesday night Bingo see Nick and Delaney making after-hours whoopee through the window of a local beauty parlor, Delaney knows it’s time to decide if Nick is truly, madly the man of her heart.

The first time I read this book, I read it because Holly made me. I had no interest in reading the book (mostly because I was a cover snob) but boy was I glad that I finally listened to her because this book was so freaking good that I re-read it not too long after I finished it. That had been years ago and while I haven’t read this book in years, I still remember it fondly.

With this month being Rachel Gibson’s spotlight, I picked this book up again and re-read it for the blog…and loved it all over again. It was such a wonderfully romantic and funny book that it took me no time at all to fall right back in love with Nick Allegrezza again. Good Lord is he a hot one!

Delaney Shaw left Truly, Idaho when she turned 18 and never turned back. She floated through life from city to city and job to job but when she has to go back to town for her step-father’s funeral, she’s not a happy camper. When she finds out that her step father left a will stating that in order for her to get her inheritance, she has to stay in Truly, Idaho for a year, she’s pissed. Forced to stay, she figures that if she can stay the hell away from Nick Allegrezza (the bane of her childhood existence) for that year then she’ll be okay.

Only that doesn’t happen because this is a romance and we need some drama so of course, Nick and Delaney run into each other and soon the romance between them starts heating up. I loved it! I loved the bad boy, the unrequited love thing, I just loved it all.

Nick is the bastard of Truly Idaho’s main man. Henry never acknowledged Nick as his son the whole time that he was alive and when the reading of the will happens and Henry leaves Nick property and stuff with stipulations, I wanted to punch Henry in the face. This was really the only part of the book that I hated. The whole will thing but aside from that, Rachel Gibson does a fantastic job of fleshing Nick and Delaney’s characters. I just adored reading about them again.

Watching Nick and Delaney fall in love again was cute. I thought they were too cute together and their romance had the right amount of heat to make this book a page turner. I thoroughly enjoyed it this time around and would definitely recommend this book to fans of Rachel Gibson and to fans of contemporary romance. This one is a delightful read and the hero is delicious!
