What Are You Reading? 9/19 (25)

Holly: I’m in the reading slump of all reading slumps right now. Before this week, I just couldn’t seem to get into any books. It was so frustrating! I picked up 7 books in one day, and set them all aside. Some after I’d read a 100 pages or more. I hate it when that happens.

Yesterday I finally picked up one of the Drake Sisters books by Christine Feehan. It’s been years since I fully re-read this series and it just seemed to click. Thank goodness. I was afraid my slump was going to last forever. I’m currently reading Oceans of Fire, book 3. It’s one of my least favorite books of the series. I always struggle to get past the actions of the hero. I love certain parts of it, though, so I’ll continue to finish reading it. I’ve already read book 4, Joley’s book, and books 1 and 2, Sarah and Kate‘s books. I plan to finish the whole series before moving on.

Since these books seem to be working so well for me, I’d love to find some that are similar. If any of you have recommendations for paranormals like these, I’d really appreciate it. No shifters or vamps, just clairvoyants/psychics.

Casee: I’ve been reading like crazy this last week. I think I’ve read five books in the last week. That’s a lot for me right now. It feels like a major accomplishment. I’ve been leaning more toward romantic suspense books. I read Roxanne St. Claire’s upcoming book, Edge of Sight. Now I’m reading Into the Crossfire by Lisa Marie Rice. It’s my first book by this author. I literally am just pages in, so I’m not sure how it’s going to be. I’m hopeful.

So what are you reading?

  1. Loved The Darkest Hour by Maya Banks. Read it in one sitting.

On the 3rd book of Louisa Edwards Trilogy – Just One Taste.
Just so wonderful. Also loved Can’t Stand The Heat & On The Steamy Side. Going to be some of my faves of 2010.

Sealed with a Kiss by Pamela Morsi. I’ve developed a taste for Americana lately and this is really hitting the spot. — willaful

  3. I’ve just finished Icarus Rising by Bernadette Gardner and Conspiracy Game by Christine Feehan. Am continuing to read A Passion To Die For by Marilyn Pappano, D’jinnxd by Tamar Black and about to start reading Vampire Queen Servant by Joey W. Hill.

In the past week, I finished Kitty’s House of Horrors (Carrie Vaughn) and started Chasing Perfect (Susan Mallery). I also read assorted stories from the Mammoth Book of Irish Romance. Not really feeling it, though.

I went out of town for a long weekend and didn’t read anything then.
