Why I’m Reading Infinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon.

At fourteen, Nick Gautier thinks he knows everything about the world around him. Streetwise, tough and savvy, his quick sarcasm is the stuff of legends. . .until the night when his best friends try to kill him. Saved by a mysterious warrior who has more fighting skills than Chuck Norris, Nick is sucked into the realm of the Dark-Hunters: immortal vampire slayers who risk everything to save humanity.

Nick quickly learns that the human world is only a veil for a much larger and more dangerous one: a world where the captain of the football team is a werewolf and the girl he has a crush on goes out at night to stake the undead.

But before he can even learn the rules of this new world, his fellow students are turning into flesh eating zombies. And he’s next on the menu.

As if starting high school isn’t hard enough. . .now Nick has to hide his new friends from his mom, his chainsaw from the principal, and keep the zombies and the demon Simi from eating his brains, all without getting grounded or suspended. How in the world is he supposed to do that?

I’ve been an avid fan of the Dark Hunters series for years. I think I started the series back in 2003 and I’ve never turned back. Even when I probably should have because SK turned away from the rules she made for her own world and even when one of the baddies got their own book, which I’m surprised to say that I’m still annoyed by.

But I guess I’m a ride or die chick because as much as I was exasperated by the need to have an entire series dedicated to one of the guys that I absolutely loved that is turning out to be a major douche (which I’m still hopeful that he’ll be redeemed), I’m still going to read this series.

Or at least, I’m going to try out the first book.

I know that I’m going to enjoy the books. I don’t think it’s possible for me to not enjoy any of SK’s book in some way or shape or form. She’s like drugs for my eyes.

I.just.can’t.help.myself.

Sherrilyn Kenyon is one of the authors that I’ll forgive anything. As long as she keeps writing DH books, I’ll keep reading them and Nick is apart of that series so I’ll be reading these books.

And I can’t wait!

  1. I’ve never read anything by SK.

Well, once, got stuck in an airport in AZ on my way from OH to Seattle and I finished my Sarah Dessen on the first leg. So I picked up one of SK’s books. It was way far into the series. So I really didn’t know what was going on. Haven’t read anything else by her.

I should give her DH series a try.

    Maybe.

I already have a boat load of series. I dunno if I can handle another.

    I know, I’m a lightweight.

    Sigh.

I”ve been absolutely no help whatsoever have i?! 🙂

  2. I feel the same way about Laurell K Hamilton. LOL

And I’m so far behind on this series…so I haven’t been annoyed by her breaking her own rules yet.

Girl I couldn’t agree with you more! I ALMOST bought it the other day at Kroger but I know Itll be cheaper at Amazon…but oh girl I cant wait! Nath had a good thought to this book though…does this mean we have to wait even longer for Nick DH book??? I hope not =(

Cant wait to read your review!

  4. Mollie,

Most romance readers crack is the BDB books by J.R. Ward but for me, it’s the DH series. Can’t live without it. =P

I feel you on the overwhelming amount of series that I’ve got going on right now.

I’m so going to read this book, I just can’t help myself.

  5. Ames,

What book did you stop at?

    Monroe,

As long as we’re getting some kind of Nick story then I guess I’ll survive. I’m still super anxious to see who he ends up with.

Do you think he’ll end up with Artie? Oh goodness if he does.
