It’s Mother’s Day, What Are You Reading?

First things first: HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY! I hope all you moms out there have a relaxing, love-filled day. With maybe a romance novel or two thrown in, just because.

Holly: I haven’t been reading much the last week or so. My husband took the week off work to have a stay-at-home vacation and we’ve been busy with Spring Cleaning. While I’m thrilled to have some big projects taken care of, I’m ready to get back into a normal routine, i.e., find time to read!

I did start The Last Lone Wolf by Maureen Child yesterday. I’m only a few chapters in so I’m going to reserve judgment, but I have to say the heroine’s reasons for seeking out the hero bother me. Or maybe not her reason (she wants a baby), but the fact that she feels like he owes her one because the military – and he, in a round-about way – took her only family from her. So now they owe her one. The logic seems flawed and is frankly pissing me off. But I’m willing to keep reading to see if it improves.

Rowena: I’m knee deep in the middle of a mad YA reading frenzy.  It’s all I want to read these days.  I just finished reading Rachel Vincent’s My Soul to Take and immediately started reading The Iron King by Julie Kagawa.  I enjoyed the Vincent and am about a third of the way into the Kagawa and it’s reminding me a lot of Alice in Wonderland but not in a bad way (I wasn’t a fan of Alice and Wonderland, never have been), just in a different kind of way.  Different in the way that this book is different than anything I’ve ever read and I’m kinda liking it.  We’ll see how the rest of the book goes but for right now, not so bad.

After this book, I think I’m going to pick up either the latest Kim Lenox or the latest Erin Quinn.  I’ve been looking forward to both books for a while now so wish me luck!

Also, HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all of you lovely mothers out there!

Casee: I’m reading Dangerous Desires by Dee Davis. I’ve always enjoyed Dee Davis’ books. The month of May has treated me kindly when it comes to reading. I look forward to reviewing some of the books.

So…what are you reading this Mother’s Day?

Have been in and out of a book slump lately. I started Carrie Lofty’s What A Scoundrel Wants this morning. So far so good.

I finished listening to We Are All Welcome Here by Elizabeth Berg, which was perfect, because it’s a mother-daughter story. So I decided next I would listen to a book my mom recommended, which I can’t quite remember the title of, but it’s a YA called something like The Reformed Vampire’s League. — willaful

  3. I started reading How to Knit a Love Story by Rachael Herron this morning and just finished it. I loved it! I am so excited to find out that there are at least two more books expected!
