Rowena: It’s that time again, a fresh new week to discuss the books that we’re reading. I’ll start with this. I stopped reading the Libby Malin book because I can’t get into it. I’m wasting time tying to get into it so I just put it away.
I started reading Taken by Storm by Angela Morrison. It’s a YA book that so far, is pretty good. It’s about a broken young boy who lost his parents and is trying to grieve and move on with his life and a girl who has always followed the rules and follows for a boy that isn’t of the same faith as her. Right now, Michael’s parents just died and he’s living in his Dad’s old room with his grandma and he’s going to school and hating life right now. Morrison has done a fab job of making me feel the grief that Michael feels right now. She’s also done a bang up job of making me relate to Leesie as well. I’m really enjoying this book and can’t wait to finish it. I need to know what happens next.+
Holly: I finished The Care and Taming of a Rogue by Suzanne Enoch on Friday. It was really great. I’m kind of frustrated with myself for leaving it in my TBR pile for so long. I really adored the hero, especially. He’s an adventurer who’s been away in the Congo for several years and he’s totally unconventional. If you haven’t read it already, you should pick it up.
Last night I started The Marriage Ring by Cathy Maxwell. I read about a chapter before setting it aside. It just didn’t grab me. The hero and heroine start out at odds – his family ruined hers years ago and she’s seeking revenge (per the back blurb) – and I’m in the mood for something lighter, I think. I’ll come back to this one later.
Casee: I’m lucky enough to be reading Bonds of Justice by Nalini Singh. So far it has everything that I love in the Psy/Changeling series. I’m really looking forward to finishing it today.
In between books, I’ve been re-reading Suzanne Brockmann. I re-read Over the Edge (my favorite of the Team Sixteen series) and I just started Out of Control. I think that Ken Karmody is my favorite SEAL. I lurve him.
I finished up PIECES OF SKY by Kaki Warner and was lucky enough to get an ARC of book 2 of this series so I’m currently about 150 pages into OPEN COUNTRY by her. Have missed reading westerns!
I am reading Abandon the Night by Joss Ware and Queen of Souls and Air by C L Wilson
I just finished A Touch of Scandal by Jennifer Haymore, Mind Games by Carolyn Crane. Next up are Rose Lerner’s In For a Penny, Miranda Neville’s The Wild Marquis and of course Gail Carriger’s Changeless.
Hell Fire by Ann Aguirre is an awesome read, too; I read in as an ARC, and it releases this week.
Kris, I just got Embrace the Night Eternal and Abandon the Night. So much good stuff out there to read!

What’m I reading now? I’m halfway or more though Fragile, and just finished Broken by Shiloh Walker.
Clearly I’m ok with reading out of order. No idea what I’ll hit next – I’m too busy running through all the episodes of Merlin that I can find O_o.
I am reading my first Jill Marie Landis book ‘Lovers Lane’ and, 100 pages in, am really enjoying it. The hero Jake, heroine Carly and her 5 year old son Christopher are great characters and if the excellent writing and storyline continues, this will make it to my keeper shelf.

Wrapped up Surrender Of A Siren by Tessa Dare, and have started Under The Gun by HelenKay Dimon, a March Harlequin Intrigue.
Not sure what will be on tap next. It should probably be Leave Me Breathless by HKD, since I checked out a copy from work….

yes, but still trying to get get myself to empathize with Zoe. She pushes him away so much it is hard to “watch” sometimes. but it does make for a more interesting storyline.
I’m thinking about starting Moon Craving by Lucy Monroe. I want to read a good book set in the Highlands 🙂 Has anyone read it? Is it as good as I think its going to be?
@Diana- I bought an Allie Finkle book for my daughter to read but she’s dragging her feet on reading it. Should I pick it up myself and read it?
I just finished the Angela Morrison book, Taken by Storm and I really enjoyed it. I’m going to start Rumor Has It by Jill Mansel tonight but in between that, I started a reread of The Defiant Hero by Suz Brockmann and already I want to strangle the heroine, Meg. Goodness, she just gets stupider and stupider with every read but man, Sam and Alyssa! LOVE THEM!
I finished ‘Lover’s Lane’ by Jill Marie Landis and it was indeed an excellent read. It has now taken its well-deserved place on my keeper shelf.
I just finished two rereads – Butterfly Tattoo and What happens in London. I am currently reading Gentlemen prefer Succubi by Jill Myles (slowly attacking my TBR list) followed by The dark Mirror by Juliet Marillier, The Summer of You by Kate Noble and Mind Games by Carolyn Crane.
Whew. And the TBR list never seems to end.
Went ahead with Moon Craving! So glad I did! At first I thought I wasn’t going to like it, but 80 pages in and I realize I was wrong! I adore the hero and heroine!
@Chelsea B – I meant to comment earlier to tell you to read it, then I got busy and didn’t make it back. I’m so glad you liked it. I thought it was very wonderfully done. I’m excited for the next book (I think it’s planned for the fall).
@Ritu – I enjoyed both of those books. What did you think of Butterfly Tattoo. It was wonderfully written, I think, but it left me feeling sort of melancholy.
@teenyann – I think I have something by JML in my TBR pile. I’ll have to double check.
I read Proof by Seduction by Courtney Milan today. It was just what I was in the mood for and I really enjoyed it.
Do you ever read a book that matches your mood so completely you just sink into it?
That’s how I felt about PbS. It might not have been a perfect book, but it was perfect for my mood today. I love it when that happens.
I just finished The Darkest Hunger by Juliana Stone. If you’re looking for a good shifter story, give this book a try. I loved it.

I just finished reading Rumor Has It by Jill Mansel and while I enjoyed it, the heroine got on my nerves and the hero got on my nerves for letting the heroine get away with all of her backassward logic but overall, it was still a good read.
Now, I’m reading Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols and I can already tell that I’m going to love it!
