It’s April 11th…What are you reading? (3)

Casee: I’m reading Chased By Moonlight by Nancy Gideon. It’s the second book in a new shape-shifter series. The series follows the same couple–a cop and an ex-criminal. The dynamic of the relationship makes for good reading.

I’m almost done with it. I have three or four books I’m trying to decide on. I can’t decide if I should go historical or stick with paranormal. Paranormal has been treating me well for the last month or so.

Holly: I just finished Like No Other Lover by Julie Ann Long, book 2 in the Pennyroyal Green Series. I really enjoyed it. The heroine is written in a very unconventional way. I can’t say the base of the storyline was new, but the twist on it was. I quite enjoyed it.

I’ve been on a historical kick lately and have been working my way through some of the ones in my TBR. I have another Long, Since the Surrender, pulled out but I’m not sure if I want to start it or something else.

Rowena: I’m almost done with reading Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols and I really enjoyed it. I’ve seen a lot of great reviews on this book so I was really excited to read it. I can see why everyone has been loving this book. The story itself is compelling and the characters are fantastic and I can’t wait to finish it. I’m dying to know what happens.

For my next Suzanne Brockmann re-read, I’m thinking Over the Edge. I’m really excited about this re-read because til now, OtE has been my re-read but it’s been ages since I’ve read it so I’m looking forward to cracking that sucker open.

Now that you know what we’re reading, it’s your turn…what are YOU reading this week?

I rarely read more than one book at a time but this week was the exception. i finished Jill Shalvis’ Get a Clue and am in the last quarter of J D Robb’s Imitation in Death. However, I was itching to read a historical and from the many ones i have in my piles I chose Suzanne Enoch’s Lady Rogue. SE is a recent discovery for me but i loved the first and third books in the Notorious Gentlemen trilogy.

  2. I am in the middle of Pleasures of a Dark Prince by Kresley Cole. Amazingly enough I am only reading one book at the moment. But I just finished Rosemary and Rue (October Daye Book 1) by Seanan McGuire it was very good.

  3. Chelsea B.

I’m about to start Wicked Deeds On A Winter’s Night by Kresley Cole! I’m slowly but suerly making my way through her series!

  4. Firstly, I’ve only recently discovered your blog site but it’s now on my regular read list – your reviews are fantastic.

As a result I’ve found several new books, and authors, thanks to your recommendations.

Joss Ware is one author you reviewed recently and her post-apocalyptic series now sit on my keeper shelf. I’ve just devoured the three books she has in print in this series.

Thanks again for your honest, interesting reviews. I’ll be back!

I just finished Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins. It was good. Only I did not know that it was the first book in a triology. Now I’m itching for the next book coming out near the end of this year I believe. I’m still figuring out the next book. Itching for a historical but haven’t decided which one yet.

  6. I’m reading The Lion’s Daughter by Loretta Chase. It’s OOP but Ms. Chase has a stash that she sells for the RRP and she kindly sent me my very own autographed copy of this hard to find book (yay!)

I’m really enjoying it so far – the hero, Varian, reminds me a bit of Sherry in Seize the Fire (one of my favourite Kinsale stories).

I just finished Devil In Winter by Lisa Kleypas. I loved it. Now I’m going to have to read the rest of the Wallflowers series.

Next up, I think is going to be a PNR by Keri Arthur called Destiny Kills. I loved her Riley Jensen werewolf series and picked this one up cheap at a used bookstore. – JenM

  8. I just finished Three Days to Dead by Kelly Meding – which was fantastic. And I’m now just starting Changeless by Gail Carriger.
JenM, hope you enjoy Destiny Kills, I loved it.

  9. I’m still on a historical kick. I just finished Wicked Little Game by Christine Wells. I discussed it in part here. While there were parts I enjoeyd, overall I was mostly unimpressed. I may be curious enough to read the second book, Sweetest Little Sin (which I have in my TBR pile), however. We shall see.

@Anon – DIW is one of my favorite Kleypas novels. I don’t think the other Wallflower books are as good, but they’re still worth reading.

@Kylie – Welcome! And thanks for your kind words. 🙂

  10. I just finished Knight of Desire by Margaret Mallory. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to read the rest of the trilogy (Which I thankfully have in my TBR pile). I love medievals!

  11. I read Montana Legacy by RC Ryan today. It’s a contemporary western set in Montana. I enjoyed the basic premise, but there were a lot of plot holes and editing errors. I have the 2nd one in my TBR pile and I’m not sure if I want to read it.

Now I’m in the middle of Killing Me Softy by Maggie Shayne. I’ve been waiting 5 years for this book! I’m so glad it’s finally here.

  12. Rowena

I just finished reading Truly Madly by Heather Webber and it was just okay for me. After finishing that book, I have moved on to Seducing a Highlander by Emma Wildes and I’m hopeful that I’ll enjoy this one. I adored the last book that I read by EW so I’m looking forward to what she’s got cooking in this new book.
