Tracy’s review of Mr. Right-Now by Paige Tyler

Kate Gentry is always the bridesmaid, never the bride. When her best friend asks her to be maid of honor, it just reminds her of how crappy her luck is when it comes to finding her own Mr. Right. Her friends point out she’s trying too hard to find Mr. Right instead of having fun with Mr. Right-Now. They convince her to put her search for the perfect man on hold and have some meaningless sex with a hot guy.

Kate takes their advice and propositions the gorgeous best man, Dawson McKenna. When he eagerly agrees, she finds herself doing things she never dreamed of doing, including spanking, bondage, and some amazing anal sex.

Despite telling herself Dawson isn’t supposed to be Mr. Right, Kate finds herself falling for him big time anyway. But since she was the one who made the rules, how can she now tell him she wants more than just a weekend fling?

Kate is on San Juan Island in Washington for her best friends wedding. She’s been in 8 wedding in 8 years and she’s never been the bride herself. She doesn’t date a guy unless she thinks he’s marriage material and definitely doesn’t stay with them long if she thinks they’re not The One. So she shows up at her friends wedding weekend dateless. Her friends talk her into having a weekend fling with the groom’s best man just so she can have some fun and, for once, not have to worry about the future. Although she’s leery at first she decides to just go for it – especially after she sees how attractive Dawson McKenna is.

Kate makes her move and Dawson is all for the lack of strings that will be attached. He was sure he would get to the wedding and have a bunch of marriage-minded women after him. A little arrogant maybe, but if he’s that good looking then he’s probably right. But when Kate and Dawson get together sparks fly and fireworks go off they’re just so good together. On top of the great sex however they find that they have a lot in common and love talking to each other and spending time in each others company. It’s a match made in heaven – except they both know that it’s just for the weekend.

This was a cute book. Not all that long – novella length – but it really packed a great little punch. The sex was hot which is always nice when you’re reading erotica – but the relationship that grew between Dawson and Kate was just a sweet read. I liked how comfortable the two were with each other in what could have been an incredibly awkward situation – especially after that first night spent together in bed. Overall I think that Ms. Tyler has done a great job of capturing the intensity as well as the fun of the weekend spent together.

Rating: 3.75 out of 5
