Tracy’s review of Mardi Gras by Lacey Alexander

Mia Sanderson has been in love with her boss, Ty Brewer, for years, but ladies’ man Ty only sees her as a friend and even worse, a good girl. So when Mia and Ty are invited to the same Mardi Gras party, Mia decides to live out a fantasy. Donning a Mardi Gras mask and wig, Mia masquerades as the seductive Mistress Mina, the bad girl of Ty’s dreams. But what will happen if Ty discovers her true identity? Mia’s risking their friendship and her job, but for a night with Ty, it’s worth it.

Mia works for Ty and has had a crush on him since her brother brought him home to visit from his freshman year at college. Despite their 5 year age difference Mia wants Ty with a passion. But Ty just sees Mia as a sweet but nice woman and Ty believes that sweet but nice women can’t possibly be wild cats in the bedroom.

When Mia overhears Ty and his friend Jack talking about Ty’s desire to be tied up she is instantly aroused. Jack then invites them both to a Mardi Gras party at his house. Mia starts concocting an idea that will get her Ty right where she wants him.

Mia dresses to seduce and goes to Jack’s party. Ty sees her and is instantly taken with her the masked beauty and they leave the party to go have some fun together. The lady known as Mistress Mina is a great dominatrix but it’s difficult for Ty to give the control up. He may be having some of the greatest sex in his life but he doesn’t always want to be dominated. Despite that he asks Mistress Mina if he can see her again. She immediately declines but lets Ty give her his phone numbers. Mistress Mina and Ty see each other again but this time Ty manages to get the Mistress to give up some of the control. Ty really wants to see who’s behind the mask but Mina won’t relent. Ty realizes that he’s falling in love with Mina but since she won’t reveal her identity he gives up. When Ty finds out that Mina is Mia he is incredibly angry but will he see Mia for who she really is – the sweet but nice woman who can also be a wild cat in bed?

I really enjoyed this novella. Lacey Alexander has once again given us a steamy tale of sex and love. It had the friends to lovers element to it that I always enjoy (even though Ty had no idea that Mina was Mia) and the scenes flowed very nicely from one to another. This is an erotic novella so there was quite a bit of sex in it but it was very well done as well as being incredibly hot. I didn’t feel like there was too much and the sex was a part of the continuing story so it didn’t feel like they were shoved in there just for titillation. Nicely done.

Rating: 4 out of 5
