Book Sluts ‘r’ Us Media Statement

It’s on again, virtual folks!

The ground breaking… the awesome… the whenever-we’re-in-the-mood-to-give-it-to-someone-nual…
BOOK SLUTS ‘R’ US BLOGGER AWARD!
This time we’re challenging you to tell us how much of a Book Slut you really are.
That’s right. We dare you to admit how many books you bought last month, whether it be an ebook, new-in-print or secondhand/used. Pressies, books for reviews or ARCs don’t count so don’t even try it.
The person judged to be the most unrepentant Book Slut will not only receive the Book Sluts ‘r’ Us Blogger Award, but an ebook of their choice up to $8. (What can we say. We are enablers.)
This time we’re only accepting nominations if you have the cahones to comment directly on this post because anyone not proud of their sluttery is unworthy of the Book Slut award. Amen.
Fess up by Saturday, November 7th by 11:59pm (for those down under that’s Sunday, Nov. 8th 3:59pm)
C’mon. We’ll show you ours, if you show us yours. 😉

  1. OMG honey… the title alone woke me up and had been lol!!!!Not sure if I am ready to confess all my dirty, smutty secrets, lmao… Especially since last month was my birthday month…. ***blushes O_O***
I hope you have a great day honey!

  2. Cecile – you MUST confess!! lol And besides all of those gifties for your birthday don't count. 🙂

    KB – No laughing. 🙂

  3. Don't read this, CJ!

Ummmm…… My name is Chris and I purchased *mumble* books from 10/3/2009 – 11/2/2009. What? You didn't hear me? *sigh* Fine. Be that way. Near as I can tell, I purchased about 97 books during that time period. Fortunately, some of them were rather short ebooks. And six were purchased with a gift certificate. And some were used paperbacks – why did you ask this during the month my library has its big sale?! Does that make it any better?? No?

Um, not every month is quite that crazy. 🙂 But I've been on this m/m kick…

Oh, that doesn't count the books I won during that time period, which ups it another, um, five or six.

    *looks cute and innocent*

  4. Cecile: Tease!

Katiebabs chook: This is serious shit, hun. No laughing.

Chris: *hand to heart* A moment in silence to honour the presence of a true Book Slut.

*wipes tear from eye* I'm so impressed.

  5. Omg… ***bowing to the Queen of Book Sluts, Chris***

I know I did not buy nearly as many as that… So, I will take my puny little self and go in a book store and buy more books… **looking up to my hero Chris, lol… as I watch the debit card run away with my notebook that keeps every book I want and own in it**

**cough cough** Okay, without the damn notebook… Just remembering the covers alone… My number is in the high 20's… **still on my knees waiting for the highness to grant me worthy, lmao**

  6. Chris – I'm….I have no words. I am so going to not enter this competition…because 0 is such a small number to confess too…so I'll be cheering from the sidelines 🙂

  7. Um… Single, with cats, disposable income, hates tv, loves to read, reads fast. What can I say? (Hmm. As a personal ad? That would so not get me any dates. Maybe adding Book Slut…)

  8. LOL, Chris. I bow down to your book sluttishness.

I would guess I was around the 15 book mark last month, including audio, e-book, ubs purchases, and new books. I'm nowhere in Chris' ballpark.

  9. Orannia – 0? Really? Honey do I need to do an intervention? At least 1 would make you a book slut in training. 🙂

Cecile – 20 – impressive. Keep up the good work.

Chris – Book slut would work in the ad. You know, maybe we should just write it for you. That will be our next project. 🙂

Renee – keep up the sluttish behavior – you're almost there.

  10. Go figure, just when I finally manage to control my book buying!!

In October I only bought 9 books which is much better than the 29 I bought in September. My TBR is huge and I'm trying to get it down a bit before I go back to my usual buying frenzy.

  11. I love this post! Tracy you caught me just when I went on a self-imposed "book-buying diet." The holidays are coming and I always slow down after September. In October I purchased 19 books. I usually buy much more than that *blush*…

BUT, on my slutiest month, I've never, EVER reached the awesome #97! Way to go Chris!

  12. Lily – admirable of you to try to get through your TBR but not good for the BS award, I must say. 🙂

Chris – and so you should be.

Hilcia – 19? Not bad for being on a book buying diet. 🙂

  13. Tracy – cross my heart and hope to die….0! If it helps, I am going to buy Blaze of Memory (Nalini Singh) tomorrow. Does buying a book tomorrow make me a 'book slut in training to be'?
