Author Spotlight: Susan Andersen

This month we had a hard time deciding which author to spotlight. So many authors, so many amazing books, so few months in a year. But in the end we decided on one we (meaning Casee and I) started reading back in the very beginning of our romance reading careers.

Susan Andersen is an amazing talent that writes primarily contemporary romance and romantic suspense (generally light on the suspense and heavy on the romance). She was one of the first contemporary romance authors I glommed, and she remains one of my favorites to this day.

When we started kicking around ideas for which author to spotlight, Casee and I discovered something shocking..and maybe even a little bit sad: Rowena has never read a Susan Andersen novel. She has several in her TBR, but she’s never read them. Why, I don’t know, since I’ve told her many many times, for many many years, that she should (but then we know that girl never listens to me…and is always sorry for it afterward!), but there you have it.

So this month will be special. Not only will we be spotlighting an amazing author, but we’ll also be pushing Rowena to finally do as I say read one of her fabulous books. I hope any of you out there who haven’t tried Susan Andersen will join us.

With a backlist like that, there’s sure to be something for everyone including Rowena. I can’t tell you how many hours of reading pleasure Susan Andersen has provided me. From the first page to the last I’m guaranteed to be sucked right in…and I hope you and Rowena will be too.

You can find out more about Susan by visiting her website or by visiting her at Running with Quills, where she blogs with several other amazing authors.

Don’t forget to vote for your favorites in the Last Hero Standing competition either. There are so many amazing ones to choose from, I can’t wait to see who comes out on top.

Rowena – Can’t wait to see what you pick. I’ve read most Susan Andersen books, and my favorites have to be ‘Getting Lucky’ (for the steam), and Be My Baby (for the humor). ‘Head Over Heels’ is also a big fav and very steamy. The only one I did not care for was the Vegas story ‘Skin Tight’. Sorry, didn’t work for me. I am still getting caught up with her last several published, so I can’t comment on them.

I only read two Susan Andersens till now but have three more in my pile. So I will be following the threads about her books very carefully.

So what book should I start with? What’s the first book in the loosely related series?

And Luci…will you be reading any SA with me? You totally should. =)

Wena, the Marine series order is Head over Heels, Getting Lucky, Hot & Bothered and Coming Undone.

But another one to read unrelated to a series is Exposure. Elvis is awesome! You can’t go wrong with this one.

Rowena I have Exposure, Skintight and Just For Kicks if you want to start with those. Will read them with you.
