A Battle of the Alphas a Guest Post by Kris

Please welcome Kris from Kris ‘n’ Good Books! She has finally agreed to do a post for my blog…and it only took bribery! (No, I won’t say what it was!)

A couple of weekends ago, I made the grave error of reading a Christine Feehan and a Lora Leigh on the same day.
I know! What the hell was I thinking?!

Let’s put aside the fact that I nearly OD’ed on testosterone and was forced to go lay down with some soothing cool washcloths and turn on my trusty electronic device.

What?! No, not THAT, Tracy! Jesus. Mind outta the gutter, Cali-butt-girl. I’m talking about my air con, of course. *tsk, tsk*

Anyway, whilst recovering from my severe case of the ALPHAS it suddenly hit me…

Tracy, why are you giggling? No, I wasn’t referring to THAT. I swear to God you have a one track mind at the moment. I thought you said your husband was back from his trip?

Whoa. TMI.

Where was I?? Oh, yes. A thought *glaring* suddenly occurred to me…

… should the heroes out of Christine Feehan’s and Lora Leigh’s stories ever meet up, who do you think would win?

Granted LL’s Breeds have certain advantages when it comes to barbs and what knots (Get it? I crack me up!), but would CF’s mix of genetically engineered soldiers, kitty cats and toothy Carpathians be able to take ‘em? What do you reckon?

Of course, should Acheron turn up, he would seriously kick some Breed and paranormal arse.

I’m picturing a ring filled with chocolate sauce as opposed to mud.

I agree, Tracy. It would definitely be slurpiliscous. *g*

  1. You crack me up, Kris.

Unfortunately only having read one Christine Feehan (an experience I decided I didn't want to repeat) and never having read any Lora Leigh, I can't possibly comment on this. So I'll just stand on the sidelines and watch the match.

    *waves*

  2. Tam

I'm with Jen, except in the reverse, one Lora Leigh and no Feehan, couldn't get into it. But I'll lay all my money on Ash any day. Mmmm. Chocolate, lick-o-licious. Damn, I never had breakfast, I'm starving.

  3. Woohoo! I'm not the only one. ((Kris))

Anyway… I'm thinking Meljean's Micheal vs. Nalini's Raphael in a dusting contest. Whatcha think?

  4. All right, I have to say that if there was a contest between the two the Breeds would win. However, I've not read but 5 of the Carpathian novels and only 1 of the Ghostwalkers so I may be biased. 🙂

And yes, Ash would kick all their asses were he around. My heavens I love that picture. Where's the mud ring when you need it?

  5. Jen: Voyeur has a much better ring to it than perve, don't you think, Jen??

KB: My air con is the perfect size to do a fab job for me. Thanks for asking.

Mandi: 😉 Acheron would wipe them all out with chocolate sauce and cream on top, but not cherries cos I don't like 'em.

Tam: I think I'll just lay with Ash all day and forget about the money. *g*

    Zeek: *pats* Soooo prettie.

Amy: Hehehe. A dusting contest?? I'd watch that. 🙂

Tracy: I'm reckon the Breeds would too, but then I look at the piccie and think to myself 'who cares!'

  6. Let’s put aside the fact that I nearly OD’ed on testosterone…

Is that actually possible? Scientific minds would like to know… Perhaps we need to design a study 🙂

Oh, and I so like the idea of Michael and Rapheal in a dusting contest!

Sorry…there was a question, wasn't there. I haven't read Christine Feehan (I think) [and I am still not going to Aymless so no tempting *grin*] but I think I'd put my money on the Breeds 🙂 Which reminds me….where is Coyote's Heart on my TBR list? *wanders off to check*

  7. Well, I have not yet read any books by either author.. I feel like Jenre and can not comment on this… However, while you ladies discuss this between yourselves, I will help the "gentlemen" in the ring with the chocolate… ***what a grin*** Well, someone has to help them clean it off!!! =}
From Od'ing on testosterone, to turing on electronic devies… I was killing myself!!!

Thanks for the wonderful post Kris~

  8. Oy, don't get me started on LL. *headdesk* I think I'm one of the few people in the world who really can't stand her books and trust me, I've tried reading them. I think it was Dawn's Awakening that finally killed it for me. HATED that book.

Never read Feehan, so can't answer.

For me though, Acheron rocks. That book slayed me. *sniffle*

PS. I say Nalini Singh's Changelings would annihilate all of 'em. *sigh*

  9. Orannia: Believe me, it's definitely possible to OD on testosterone. *fans self*

Cecile: But I want to help with the clean up too. *pouts*

Bridget! For shame! *snort* I read LL purely for the barbs and what knots. Yep, I'm that superficial.

    Acheron is a God! Oh wait…. 😉

  10. Honey, this is your party… of course you can help. I was just starting it off, because God only knows what places on these delicious men chocolate can hide **evil grin now** hummm… oh wow.. did not know chocolate could get behind that or in there.. Going in for a more thorough inspection!!!!

  11. *nods earnestly* We need to be thorough about this, Cecile.

Whoops. Oh noes. I spilled some more. Better clean that up right away. *GRIN*

  12. Gird your loins and join the battle, Dearest Sister. For 'though it be a fierce and slippery one, I am certain that we shall prevail against the chocolate!

  13. I've only read one of CF's stories on the genetically engineered men but I have read almost all of the Carpathians and LL's Breeds. I'd say the Breeds would probably kick ass until Ash shows up. Then he'd take them all out. Can't mess with Ash!!

    btw, LOVED the picture 😉
