Casee‘s review of Wicked Burn by Beth Kery.

He wanted all of her-and did she ever let him have it . . .

Vic Savian knows what he wants when he sees it. And what he wants is his sexy neighbor, Niall Chandler. When he finds her in the hallway of their building being harassed by an aggressive suitor, Vic steps in-and finds himself greatly rewarded . . .

Sleeping with her gorgeous neighbor-when she didn’t even know his last name-was the craziest thing Niall’s ever done. Now, she can’t seem to get enough of Vic-or the uninhibited passion he stirs in her. Suddenly, with his help, she’s opening to sensual pleasures she’s never known before. But when Niall’s past comes back to haunt her, will she and Vic let themselves venture beyond the bedroom and explore the possibility of the love that’s in their hearts?

After I read Daring Time, I immediately bought Wicked Burn and started reading it on my Kindle.

Niall (I immediately thought of Black Niall from Son of the Morning) Chandler is grateful when her neighbor, Vic Savian, steps into rescue her from an over-eager suitor. When she accepts his invitation to have a drink in his apartment, she has no idea what she’s getting into. She was drawn to Vic the moment she saw him in their building’s elevator, but had no intention on acting.

Lots of hot sex ensues.

Vic hasn’t had deep feelings for anyone in a long time. After he caught his fiance in bed with another man, Vic has steered clear of any emotional entanglements. He finds it hard to keep his emotional distance when it comes to Niall. There’s something about her that makes him want to protect and shelter her.

The characters really made this book as good as it was. Niall was a woman that had been through a tragedy that no woman should go through; losing a child. She also has parents that do their best to run her life the way they see fit. Vic was a total alpha male. He was literally a man of few words. He could convey anything with just a look, something that Niall finds amusing and sexy at the same time.

The conflict at the end of the book was really heartbreaking. Vic and Niall are two people that deserve to find happiness. They just have a long road to travel before they can get there.

4.25 out of 5.

Casee, this book is on my TBB list but from your review it sounds like there’s no HEA — am I reading it wrong? Please say I got it wrong or I’m going to have to take this book off my list… I can’t read books where the H/H does not have a HEA together. Thanks!

  2. I loved this book! And I loved that Vic was such a guy about when Niall hurt his feelings.

This book got me started on my Beth Kery kick. I love her stuff! Terrific review, Casee!

I’m glad I finished this one, all the sexin’ was a bit much for me in the beginning but I stuck with it and it paid off because I really enjoyed this.
