Casee Says:

May was a kick ass reading month for me. My total for the month was 22.

Burning Alive by Shannon K. Butcher (4 out of 5)
Lover Avenged by J.R. Ward (4 out of 5)
Undercover by Lauren Dane (3.5 out of 5)
Forbidden Fruit by Caitlyn Willows (3.75 out of 5)

The Gift by Beth Williamson (3.5 out of 5)
The Tribute by Beth Williamson (4 out of 5)
Hard and Fast by Erin McCarthy (3.5 out of 5)
True Love and Other Disasters by Rachel Gibson (3.5 out of 5)
With a Twist by Deirdre Martin (3 out of 5)
Chains by Shiloh Walker (4.25 out of 5)
Under Fire by Jo Davis (4 out of 5)

She’s Got It Bad by Sarah Mayberry (4.25 out of 5)
The Conqueror by Kris Kennedy (4 out of 5)
Hidden Currents by Christine Feehan (4.75 out of 5)

My favorite books of the month were Daring Time and Hidden Currents. Daring Time was my first read my Beth Kery and I was blown away by how much I loved it. I’m hoping June will be as good of a reading month, but I doubt it will be. I seem to go in spurts. Good month, bad month. But I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Rowena Says:

May was a reading slump month for me but even though I was in a mini reading slump, I think I did pretty darn good.

Always a Scoundrel by Suzanne Enoch (4.5 out of 5)
Tempted at Midnight by Jacquie D’Alessandro (4.5 out of 5)
Don’t Bargain with the Devil by Sabrina Jeffries (3 out of 5)
Holly’s Inbox by Holly Denham (4 out of 5)
Over the Edge by Suzanne Brockmann (4.75 out of 5)
Hot Property by Carly Phillips (4 out of 5)
Reining in the Rancher by Karen Templeton (4 out of 5)
With a Twist by Deirdre Martin (DNF)
Tangled Up In Love by Heidi Betts (4 out of 5)
Memoirs of a Scandalous Red Dress by Elizabeth Boyle (3 out of 5)

My favorite read this month would probably have to go to either Tangled Up in Love by Heidi Betts or Always a Scoundrel by Suzanne Enoch and Tempted at Midnight by Jacquie D’Alessandro. I thought each book was well written and quite entertaining. The book that I’m giving away this month is Always a Scoundrel by Suzanne Enoch because everyone should get to know Bramwell Johns. *sigh*

Holly Says:

I’m up from last month, but still not reading as much as I’d like. I read a total of 12 books, including re-reads. Not too shabby, I guess.

True Love and Other Disasters by Rachel Gibson – 3.5/5 (grade subject to change – I keep waffling)
Relentless by Laure Dane – 3.75/5
A Not So Perfect Past by Beth Andrews – 3.5/5
Hidden Currents by Christine Feehan – 4.75/5
The Bravo Bachelor by Christie Rimmer – 4/5
Facing It by Linda Winfree – 3.5/5
Dirty Sexy Knitting by Christie Ridgway – 4.75/5
The Conqueror by Kris Kennedy – 4.5/5
Summer at the Lake by Linda Barrett – 3.75/5
Sweet Love by Sarah Strohmeyer – 4/5
Worth Any Price by Lisa Kleypas – (re-read) 5/5
Wyoming Wedding by Sara Orwig – 3/5

Looks like I have a lot of reviews to write! I’d have to say my favorite reads for the month were Dirty Sexy Knitting by Christie Ridgway and The Conqueror by Kris Kennedy. I’d also give a honorable mention to Hidden Currents by Christine Feehan.

This month we’re giving away:

The Conqueror by Kris Kennedy
Daring Time by Beth Kery
Always a Scoundrel by Suzanne Enoch

I’m up from last month, having read 22 books this month. My favorite read was Taking Chase by Lauren Dane.

I’m interested in Daring Time by Beth Kery.

  2. Oh man, do I have to choose!? I will go with Daring Time since I just read Wicked Burn and really enjoyed it. The Conqueror sounds really good too. I do love a good medieval.

Holly, How did you like Relentless? I have Undercover in the TBR pile. I met Lauren Dane at RT in Orlando and she was really nice. Funny too.

  3. Tabitha,
Have you read that whole series? I really enjoyed it.

    Jill,
The Conqueror was really good. I hope you’ll pick it up at some point. It’s on sale for a ridiculously low price, too. Like $3, I think!

I enjoyed Relentless. I had some problems with the hero of the story, but I think Dane intended it that way (of course I could be wrong). Overall it was a solid read. Thinking back I think I enjoyed the relationship more in Undercover and the world more in Relentless.

  4. $3!!! That is cheap. It’s going on the list.

I need to get started on Dane. I have only read one of her stories and it was in the anthology What Happens in Vegas. I really want to read more of her. Just need to find the time 🙂

  5. I would love to try Daring Time. The time travel aspect intrigues me. Plus the cover is quite the tease.

  6. I’ve read really good things about The Conqueror, but haven’t found it around here (yet), so that’s the one I’d like to be in the drawing for.

    Have a great weekend, ladies!

  7. Tabitha

Holly, I did read the whole series. I started with Shane’s story, loved it, and went back and got the rest of the books. I enjoyed reading about the Chase brothers. Relentless was my first book by LD and I liked it so I started on Taking Chase next. I haven’t read Undercover and not sure if I will ever because of ending.

  8. Willa

Another pathetic reading month for me – 2 re-reads and 1 new to me book. *sob* I think my reading mojo has run off with someone else!

    Another vote for Daring Time.

  9. I have no idea how many books I’ve read but it must be around 15 (including part of the Troubleshooters series which I didn’t know..gasp).I read your review of the Conqueror and It really made me want to read it !!

  10. I didn’t read that many books this month just four I think. My favorite was The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie by Jennifer Ashley. I would love to win Always a Scoundrel by Suzanne Enoch.

  11. Anonymous

I read the Conqueror and enjoyed it. I have Suzanne Enoch’s contempary but I have never read an historical. I would like to try Daring Time.

    Regards, Ruth

  12. I was down frpm April but I blame it on the long Memorial Day weekend where I didnt read at all.

I would be interested in DARING TIME. I already have CONQUEROR on my TBR pile and I dont read, um, Enoch.

  13. MJ

I have a short list for may… 5 books but I’m officially on vacation beginning today…so watch out!!!!

    I’d love Always a Scoundrel.

  14. I’d love to play for DARING TIME! I have Kris book here to read soon! I need to plan to get Enoch too! Its been a while since I read her!

  15. I think I’m a little off on my count for this month, I know I’ve read 24 for the month of May. I chose “The Conqueror” for this month. Have a great day.

  16. Holly~ Why are you waffling with the rating for True Love and Other Disasters? Are you rating higher or lower and why? I’m just curious.

I would love to be entered and I would love to win Daring Time by Beth Kery.

  17. Please put my name in the drawing for ALWAYS A SCOUNDREL. I enjoyed AFTER THE KISS, and I would like to read the rest of the series.

I did a lot of reading in May, but I have no idea how many I read. I think my favorite was JUST BREATHE by Susan Wiggs.

  18. Rowena

    Willa,

Doesn’t sucky reading months depress you? There’s always next month though, so chin up sweets and let’s get some books read next month! =)

    Good luck to everyone! =)

  19. I’m very intrigued by Daring Time. Wicked Burn was really good, and I really want to check out Beth Kery’s new one!

  20. Last month I read 18 books and my favorite was Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase.

I’d love to win a copy of Always a Scoundrel by Suzanne Enoch.

  21. Jane

I read fifteen books in May. I would love to have a copy of “Always a Scoundrel” by Suzanne Enoch.

  22. maered

I’m on a bit of a book burn-out at the moment but I’ve just read a Jayne Castle and I loved it. Going to glom her. (JAK is amazing!)

Would love to win Daring Time or Always a Scoundrel. Thanks!

  23. They all look so good! But I think the one that catches my eyes the most is The Conqueror. Second, would have to be Always a Scoundrel (which I don’t believe I own yet…not sure! LOL). This month wasn’t too bad– I read 21 books.

  24. Kim

I read a lot of books this month, but not as many as you. I’ll pick Always a scoundrel.

  25. I managed a grand total of 32 books in May. My favourite reads of the month were Gena Showalter’s Darkest Pleasure and Larissa Iona’s Demonica series.

Put me down for Always A Scoundrel please.

  26. My reading has been down; but I think I did a little better in April. … Can’t think of a favorite… oh – Relentless by Lauren Dane was great. (Sadly I can’t quite remember when I read it.)

I’ve heard a lot about Daring Time. And I’ve added a few more books to my wishlist 🙂

  27. I came back to check more on what you read and which I missed and which I want to read and now have a huge wishlist, LOL. Makes me realize how much I’ve gotten behind in some series too like Feehan.

For Kleypas, I too loved that Bow Street Runners series. My favorite I think was LADY SOPHIA’S LOVER. That was actually my first read of hers that I picked up accidentally in a middle of the series and read (Now I almost always read series in order, LOL). My favorite all time of hers is AGAIN THE MAGIC. That’s the one with the two romances in the book (and one was a scarred heroine). That book so worked for me (others it didn’t). You make me want to re-read too! I had one re-read this month and it was Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen. Its actually been since HS since I read it so its been very long and like a new read for me.

I don’t know the number of books I read this month! I’m just starting to log them all down and for sure June I will have a list, LOL

    Thanks again, love visiting here!

  28. Jill,
So far I’ve been pretty impressed w/ everything I’ve read by Dane. I’ve been recommending her Chase series to everyone. 😛

    Tabitha,
What about the ending? You can email me if you want instead of spoiling here. Holly @ thebookbinge . com (no spaces)

    Lori T,
I enjoy Gibson’s writing and am very glad she went back to writing Hockey books (her strong suit,I think) but I was unhappy with much of the story. It really lacked originality and I’m very much on the fence about the heroine. So I can’t decide what grade to give it. 3? 4? in between? I’m still thinking about it.

    Caffey,
AGAIN THE MAGIC is one of my favorites by her. I adore McKenna. I seem to love the lesser known (and highly underrated, imo) books. BECAUSE YOU’RE MINE is fabulous, too. Logan. Aww. Really all of her books are good, IMO.

  29. Tabitha

Hi Holly, sorry can’t remember if you mentioned this but did you read Relentless yet? The characters (Sera, Ash, and Brandt) from Undercover were mentioned in Relentless and what their “HEA” was so now I know who ends up with who and I’m not into that that kind of ending so I’ll skip the book.

  30. Just love your ratings, and always gives me a good indicator which books to choose.

I’ve read good things about The Conqueror by Kris Kennedy and I would love a chance to win that one. Still have Relentless in my TBR pile which is next and I am looking forward to reading it as soon as the kids go to camp. Thanks again.
