To celebrate the release of Julia Quinn’s most recent release, What Happens in London (the sequel to The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever), we’ve got two copies to giveaway!

Book Cover

Rumors and Gossip . . . The lifeblood of London

When Olivia Bevelstoke is told that her new neighbor may have killed his fiancÉe, she doesn’t believe it for a second, but, still, how can she help spying on him, just to be sure? So she stakes out a spot near her bedroom window, cleverly concealed by curtains, watches, and waits . . . and discovers a most intriguing man, who is definitely up to something.

Sir Harry Valentine works for the boring branch of the War Office, translating documents vital to national security. He’s not a spy, but he’s had all the training, and when a gorgeous blonde begins to watch him from her window, he is instantly suspicious. But just when he decides that she’s nothing more than an annoyingly nosy debutante, he discovers that she might be engaged to a foreign prince, who might be plotting against England. And when Harry is roped into spying on Olivia, he discovers that he might be falling for her himself . . .

  1. I WANT this book! I want it I want it I want it. The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever might be my favorite Julia Quinn book. So… I’m SUPER excited about this one because it’s the sequel.
Otherwise I really like The Duke & I. I think that is my favorite, aside from Miranda.
    So excited for this book!!!

  2. I’m a big Julia Quinn Fan.
So happy to see this book release! I am so happy that I can get your website to open now

  3. Kim

I like so many of Julia Quinn’s books, but I’ll choose Mr. Cavendish, I Presume as a particular favorite. Please enter me in the drawing for the print version.

  4. Too funny. I have been hearing nothing but good things about this book. I wasn’t going to get it. I have a list of 14 books I wanted this month and skipped over this one because I thought it was a spy story. So now it sounds like I don’t want to pass it up.

My favorite Quinn book is either The Viscount who Loved Me or Romancing Mr. Bridgerton. It is too hard for me to choose. Also, I would prefer the ebook. I have an iphone with the kindle app and the stanza app.

    Thanks!

  5. I have never read anything from Julia Quinn but this books looks great. And I have heard some really great reviews so far. I would love a chance to check it out!

  6. Romancing Mr. Bridgerton! Loved Penelope absolutely loved her. Charming and sweet and gives me warm fuzzies just thinking about their story. I love them both together and separate. Colin’s love of travel and feelings of inadequacy compared to the rest of his family, and Pen’s belief that she is nothing special but does some pretty amazing things… LOVE THIS BOOK.

I would love to get the newest JQ!

  7. MJ

This would be my first JQ book. I read your review and Olivia sounds delightful. I’d love the chance to read this.

  8. My favorite books by JQ are The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever and her Bridgerton-series (especially The Duke and I & To Sir Phillip, With Love).
    I prefer a print copy.

  9. I’d rather have a print copy–no e-reader yet, and reading of the computer or laptop hurts the eyes.

My favorite JQ? The first one I read: The Duke and I. Simon is in the top ten of my heroes list.

  10. I have read every book that JQ has written, so I am really looking forward to this new one. I especially loved the Bridgerton series. It is hard to pick a favorite, but I will say ON THE WAY TO THE WEDDING.

  11. maered

Enter me, please! (for a print copy) My favourite has to be The Viscount who Loved Me or maybe It’s in his Kiss simply because of the heroes. I think JQ writes great, funny heroes.

I am glad to see she has returned to her old form!

  12. I’ve not read too many of her books – mostly the Bridgerton’s and unfortunately not all of those. Of the ones I’ve read though I think it’s a toss up between The Duke and I and the Viscount Who Loved me. Great books.

  13. I’ve not read any of Julia Quinn’s work. However, I have heard a lot about her and would love to have the opportunity to read one of her stories. I prefer print copies. Have a great day.

  14. I haven’t read a book by her yet, but I came across the book trailer yesterday…and yes I was hooked!
A book I’d like to read, not to mention see as a movie lol.

    Would prefer a print

  15. Wonderful treat for whoever wins! Thanks.
My favorite by ms. Quinn would be The Viscount Who Loved Me. Anthony’s bee issue has always stuck with me through the years.
I would prefer Print. Thanks again!

  16. My favourite JQ is probably The Lost Duke of Wyndham or When He Was Wicked.

I would prefer print. Thanks for another good contest!

My favorite is The Minx. I would love a copy of the book and take it either in print or Kindle, whichever you prefer.

    Regards, Ruth

  18. My favorite is probably To Sir Phillip With Love, but I love all the Bridgertons 🙂 Looking forward to her latest, of course! I’d prefer print, please.

  19. I like Romancing Mister Bridgerton! JQ brought me back to reading historical romances, she rocks!

Oh, I’m an old timer. My fave is Dancing at Midnight. Read it when it was first released back in the early 90s. John is such a great hero, even if he is so busy trying to protect Belle from himself. And Belle is awesome, too. Sigh. It’s one of those totally battered and bruised books on my keeper shelf. Hmmm…. maybe for next month’s reread….

Anyway, JQ is one I like to read in good old-fashioned tree.

  21. Raonaid Luckwell

Favorite of Quinns? Well since I’ve read all that she has out, I have to say that the Bridgerton’s are my favorite.

Now the hard part would be “what” bridgerton was my favorite and that still has to be Colin’s book. It was just so sweet, and who didn’t like Penelope.

  22. Oh I didn’t know this was a sequel to SECRET DIARIES OF MISS MIRANDA CHEEVER! I do love Julia Quinn’s books. I remember when I was told of her Bridgerton books, they were such a great feel read, I mean I just got into them and the humor felt so good to read! I think for me it would be the start of that series THE DUKE AND I. I too would love to read some of her others so I must plan those other series of hers! I’d love to play for the print copy of this!! Thanks bunches. I shall check your review too.

  23. My very favorite is The Duke and I, Simon being one of my top favorite heros. That’s followed closely by The Viscount Who Love Me (Kate and Anthony a favorite couple, the pall mall scenes). Splendid was the first I’d ever read and had me looking for more, and When He Was Wicked another favorite.

I wouldn’t mind getting the ebook, no room around the place anymore for print keepers.

  24. Julie at Outlandish Dreaming

Hmm, that’s a touch one, but I think it’s a toss up between Romancing Mr. Bridgerton and When He Was Wicked. I listened to WHWW on audio and fell in love, but I read RMB and adored it, so I’m leaning a bit more towards Colin and Romancing. Bush, sheesh! I love all her books! I prefer print, thanks!

  25. Jane

My favorite is “Everything and the Moon.” It was my first Julia book. I would prefer a print copy.

  26. Anonymous

I love the Viscount Who Loved Me, my first JQ book and my favorite. Love Anthony and Kate. I would love a print copy of JQ’s newest. Great reviews, looking forward to reading it.

    Canadian Fan

  27. That is so hard to answer. I have three fav JQ books:

The Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever (loved everything about it)

Romancing Mr. Bridgerton (I love that she got the man she had been in love with for years)

The Viscount Who Loved Me (I always enjoy those croquet scenes)

I would love to win either the print or the ebook copy, just as long as I get to read What Happens in London I will be one happy camper!

  28. I have enjoyed several Julia Quinn novels in the past. I especially liked To Catch an Heiress. It was light, funny in a cute silly way and was the perfect read during a very stressful time in my life. Please put my name in the hat for this new Quinn

  29. I love Julia Quinn books. She has an amazing sense of humor which you don’t find in a lot of historical romance novels. Duke and I and Viscount who loved me were probably my favorites. I’m excited to read What Happens in London (whether I win or not) 😉

I would love a print copy!

  30. My all time favorite of Julia Quinn is The Duke and I. Seriously I have bought like 4 copies of this book b/c I keep re-reading it over and over and have to replace it.
    LOVE Here

  31. Please enter me in the contest! I’d love to have this book in print. I own and have read all of Julia,s novel but haven’t had time to get this one yet. My favorite of her books would be either Minx or When he Was Wicked…I love Minx for its cheerful, impertinent heroine and When he Was Wicked because of the forbidden love thing, and the beautiful way it shows tht one can truly love more than once.

  32. Choosing a favorite Quinn is difficult for me! But, fortunately, I finished the Bridgerton series last night so I have a better idea. I want to say it is When He Was Wicked, but it is a very very close match between that and The Viscount Who Loved Me. They both have their different, amazing qualities. 🙂

And I would prefer the print book, because I like to expand my shelves. 😉

  33. Patti

OK I will admit it I have never read one of her books but your review has caught my attention and now I want to read this book. Please enter me in the drawing for the print book.
    thanks

  34. I’ve never read one of her books but this one sounds like a great start. I’ve heard nothing but praise for it. Please count me in 🙂

  35. KyL

I just started reading JQ when a friend of mine recommended the Bridgerton Series. I bought one, and got totally hooked. My favorite JQ so far is Romancing Mister Bridgerton. The Secret Diaries.. comes second. I can really relate a little to the characters which I really love for the books that I read.

Would very much love to have a print book of WHIL.

  36. I never read any of Julia Quinn’s novels but this one sounds intriguing that I want to read it. I am curious how Sir Harry will stop the plot against England. :]

  37. Ooh! I love JQ! I have most of her books (all the Bridgerton books, the Whistledown anthologies, plus the Wyndham books) but my favorite would definitely be Romancing Mr. Bridgerton — I’m a sucker for stories of good friends ending up together. I desperately want this book because the last few JQ books — while acceptable — were not as good as her earlier works, and I would really, really like to see her back in her old form. Please pick me! Any format is fine, as long as I get to read the book.

[P.S. Heh heh if that’s not reason enough, can I play the birthday card? My birthday is in 10 days! (LOL. As you can see I really want this book ^_^)]

  38. awww… I was so excited about this contest that I didn’t see that it already ended July 3. (sadface)

Any chance of extending the deadline? ;-p
