You always see those girls at the beach, the ones who somehow make you feel inferior: killer tan, long legs, tiny bikini, so comfortable in their own perfect skin, so available. I’m watching one now. I kind of hate her. But I wonder what it’s like to be her…

While on business on Florida’s gorgeous Emerald Coast, Wendy Carnes spots a woman who unknowingly changes her life. “White Bikini Babe” is the personification of sex, clearly ready for action. Watching her makes Wendy wonder whether, by putting on a sexy bikini and getting a new attitude, she could land a hot beach guy of her own. Could she really indulge in casual sex for the mere sport of it?

Armed with a daring bikini and a new attitude–along with the journal in which she records her secret thoughts on the whole adventure–Wendy soon finds herself engaging in a wild and very naughty affair with her perfect fantasy man, who pushes her to sexual extremes that she’s never imagined. But at what point does the game become reality? When does the person she pretends to be become the person she really is? And worse, what happens when her private diary falls into the wrong hands?

Yes Wendy starts to live out her sexual fantasies by buying some sexy clothing and going out to troll the bars. She figures that she’s 34 if she’s going to try to see if she can just have sex for sex’s sake it’s now or never.

On her first night out she runs into Brandon, a gorgeous male specimen. Immediately they hit it off and the sexual chemistry is mind-boggling. They’re off to the beach to engage in some mighty hot sex. But when Brandon is walking Wendy back to her hotel room he finds that he wants to see her again, which is unusual for him since his norm is one-night stands.

Wendy agrees to see Brandon again and so begins a week of sexual adventure. Wendy is sexy and fun and adventurous in all aspects of her sexual awakening (including m/f, m/f/m & one f/f scene) and she and Brandon are inseparable.

The problems begin when Wendy finds that she’s feeling more for Brandon than she wants to and is denying these feelings to herself and to the journal that she’s writing in faithfully.

I found this book very interesting. Yes it was a fun story about Wendy’s sexual adventures, of which there are many (and most were blazing hot), and a heart-warming love story. But what really caught my attention were the issues that Wendy was having with self-awareness. She had always thought herself average, but when she really took the time to look at herself she realized that she wasn’t as average as she thought. The story really brought to mind body image issues that women all over America have on a daily basis. If you dress sexier, are you sexier? If you have crazy hot sex is that really you or the person you want to be…and how do those people blend together…if they do at all? Interesting questions.

I really liked the book and if you want a great erotic read this is a good one.

  1. Hey Tracy, great review 🙂 I have this book and am a huge fan of Lacey’s work. One thing that gets on my nerves though is the number of italicized & underlined words. Just my little pet peeve. But it’s not enough to keep me from reading 😉

  2. Thanks Stacy! Yes, there were a few things about the book that I could have done without but I like her writing and those few items didn’t squash my overall enjoyment of the book. 🙂

  3. Christina – if you don’t already know Lacey Alexander is also Toni Blake who writes amazing romances. If you’re anxiously awaiting another Lacey book maybe you should try Toni. Just an fyi.

  4. Great review. I’ve never read this author under either pen name, but I want to now.

And those are some interesting questions raised. I prefer when someone finds inner beauty and begins to feel better about themselves, as opposed to them having some kind of outward transformation. Afterall, you are still you no matter what clothes you are wearing.

  5. Brie – it was an interesting book to read, really. The fact that it made you stop and think about these questions but then it’s an erotic novel so there’s smokin hot sex as well. lol It was great. Toni Blake’s books are romance and Lacey Alexander’s are erotica.
