Day two of our “Best of 2008” brings us to authors. Some are new to us and others are favorites who released new books this year (or maybe not?).

My list for 2008 includes:
– new authors (for me): Karen Rose, Kristan Higgins, Julia Quinn, Pamela Clare, Suzanne Brockmann, and Lisa Kleypas
– old favorites: J.D. Robb, and (based on re-reads) Nora Roberts, Julie Garwood, Judith McNaught, Andrea Kane, Linda Howard
I definitely have to agree with Holly and Rowena in listing Jill Shalvis. She definitely tops my list which also includes Gena Showalter, Shelly Laurenston, Larissa Ione, and James Rollins.
I agree with the Jill Shalvis listing, i love her books this year. For my own list I would have Bianca D’Arc. I have read a bunch of her stuff this year and been very impressed.

I’m writing Jill Shalvis down because I don’t believe I have read any of her books. I’m going to go back to writing down books to buy and authors to watch for in hardcopy – I’ve been, ‘oh I’ll remember that and then stand in the romance section with a giant ‘uhmmmmmm, can’t remember a thing’.
