Payton Ricci is the last person Wes Hoffman ever expected or wanted to see again. After the disastrous sexual experience between them twelve years ago, he was only too happy to put the whole episode behind him. After all, he’s come a long way since that awkward encounter between two gawky teenagers, and his ego needs no reminder.

The night he sees Payton, a very sexy grown up Payton, in Zack’s Bar and Grill, he’s mortified by this blast from the past. Payton harbors no such reservations about seeing Wes again, and it’s clear she wouldn’t mind catching up on old times. However, Wes can’t get over his mental block where she’s concerned.

But that’s nothing a blindfold and a little mad seduction scheme can’t fix, and Payton is a very determined woman.

Wes Hoffman is horrified when he runs into Payton Ricci. After the night they gave their virginity to each other, Wes has tried to put that horrible night behind him. Thinking about that night never fails to embarrass him, though he is usually able to put it out of his mind. That doesn’t happen when he and Payton meet again. While he always thought she would look at him in disgust, she actually looks happy to see him. Still, he can’t hang around when seeing her makes him relive every agonizing minute.

Payton has no idea why Wes would blow her off. She has nothing but fond memories of the time they spent together as teenagers. Payton is determined to hunt him down so she can understand why he acted like she has plague.

When Wes finally tells her why, she is both amused and horrified herself. Though she tries to explain to him that they were both kids, Wes can’t seem to get over the hangup his lack of performance caused. Payton realizes that if she wants to get to know Wes again, she’ll have to get creative.

This was a quick read. I admired Payton’s determination to give Wes better memories of herself. Payton just doesn’t know if a couple weekends of hot sex will be enough to make Wes realize that they belong together.
