The Non-Review Review: Demon Bound

Posted November 12, 2008 by Tracy in Reviews | 10 Comments

Among the Guardians, Alice Grey is known as the Black Widow—a woman trapped in a web spun by the demon Teqon. To save her soul, she agreed to deliver to Teqon the heart of the oldest and most powerful Guardian of all, or else be damned for eternity. After more than a hundred years, Teqon is calling in his debt.

Jake Hawkins is a novice Guardian whose gift of teleportation could be invaluable to Alice in determining her next move. But in aligning himself with her he never expected to fall in love. Now, their passionate flight to escape Alice’s damnable bargain is threatening both their souls. For they’re about to discover a hellish secret about the Guardians—something that will change their universe forever.

I’m not even sure what I can say about Demon Bound that hasn’t already been said. I just want to tell everyone what a truly fabulous book this is.

I loved Jake. He was just incredible. I liked him when he was first introduced in the earlier books but I was a little surprised when I found out he was going to be the hero of Demon Bound. I mean I liked him a lot, but hero material? Well let me tell you – he can be in my hero hut any day! He was a warm, wonderful, honorable man who was just as sexy as hell. Hot. Damn.

I loved watching Alice come out of her shell, or her web as it were. She was all tangled up in her bargain with Teqon and until Jake came along pretty much at her wits end. She finally realized that shunning people wasn’t going to make things easier for herself no matter what happened with the final outcome of the bargain. She was intelligent as could be and truly had a great sense of humor.

I just love Meljean’s writing. She has a way of grabbing your attention from the beginning of the book and not letting go. The on-going story of the Guardian’s is truly heating up and I can hardly wait to hear what happens next!!

5 out of 5

Now Meljean, I know you said that Holly could have your babies and that I wasn’t too old for you…and you weren’t too picky…I’m hoping you still feel that way. I can finally get that red-headed baby I’ve always wanted!

  1. I feel the same. I read it over a week ago and all the “brilliant” things I thought about saying are already said. LOL

So I just say I agree, “Demon Bound” is really good. And Jake – Jake was a great hero. Just perfect.

  2. Hey, back off Meljean! I’m having her babies, so you can’t. Sez me. :-/

    Heh.

Wasn’t this fabulous? I so adored it. I love Jake. And Alice, too. Wasn’t she deliciously creepy? She really is fantastic. =)

    Good non-review, babe.

  3. Taja – brilliant is totally right on the money.

KB – I adored Jake as well and even more so when he was with Alice. I thought that as private as a person Alice was that it had just the right amount of sexin.

CJ – You’ll love it! It’s just fab!

Holly – she said she’s not picky so she can still choose me – back.off. Alice was so creepy – loved her!

KB – you can molest your feather duster all you want sweetie.

  4. Great non review, Tracy. I’ve been anxious for this book for so long. Life is just so damn hectic for me right now. Hopefully this weekend I’ll buy it… and hopefully get to read it before 2009. *sobs*

  5. Christine – you poor thing! With everything going on in your life I imagine it’s hard to read! Hang in there!

Alice – You poor thing. I know RL kind of sucks sometimes when it’s not doing what we want! Hang in there.

Katie – if you’ve read the other books in the series this is a MUST BUY! It’s a wonderful edition to the series and so much is revealed in the on-going plot.
