I was browsing the Avon books website and stumbled across some books that I want to check out. Bedtime for Bonsai is definitely one of the books I want to read. I’m very much interested in reading this book because I’ve read one other book by Elaine Fox and I liked it well enough that I’m willing to give her another shot and seriously, how cute is this cover? I’m not much of a doggy person but that cover is just too cute for words and so I’m going to dig right into this book as soon as I get my grubby paws on it.
Penelope Porter longed for a baby. But now that her marriage is over, she’s turned to the next best thing—a cute, cuddly puppy. Mr. Darcy’s an absolute sweetheart, but he could use a stint in obedience school. He keeps sneaking over to the shop across the street, the one owned by Baltimore bad boy Dylan Mersey. Not that Penelope minds having to fetch her dog from his handsome new friend . . .

How can you not want to read a book about a woman who named her dog after Mr. Darcy? LOL, this sounds like just the right kind of book that I’m wanting to read right now so I’m going to be all over this book as soon as I can.

I love dogs in stories, and her books are great “feel-good fluff”. Guys and Dogs was my favorite, but I also really enjoyed Beware of Doug. I believe that one also had lots of Jane Austen references.
Charming characters, fun doggy antics, and fantastic humor. Guaranteed laughs. She writes good stuff. 🙂
I’ve read most of Elaine’s contemporaries. My favorites are “Guys and Dogs,” “Hot Stuff” and “Special of the Day.” I haven’t had a chance to read her paranormal and time travel books.
I’ve not read anything by this author before, but this sounds like it would be a fun book to read.
What a coincidence! I just read Julie Anne Long’s “Lover like no other” from a review on BB, and I read the back pages that give short synopses of other Avon books. Just from the 3 sentence blurb, I made a mental note to pick it up when it came out. I have never read anything by her but I will look forward to your review!
