Review: Too Wilde to Tame by Janelle Denison

Mia Wilde has a reputation for being too wild to tame, but that doesn’t mean she’s going to let someone get away with distributing provocative photographs of her. She needs to find out who is threatening her before her overprotective brothers find out. For that, she’s going to enlist the help of private investigator Cameron Sinclair – – the one man who seems immune to her flirtatious and outrageous personality. But Mia soon learns that appearances can be very deceiving.

The moment Cameron agrees to help, he knows he’s in deep trouble. Because Mia isn’t just your average bad girl. In fact, beneath that wild, untamable facade is a beautiful, too sexy woman who’s been driving him crazy with desire. And if he isn’t careful, the hot passion sizzling between them might just tempt him to do something he might regret. Like propose something hotter and wilder than either of them had ever imagined . . .

Mia Wilde is used to overprotective men. As the youngest female in her family, Mia’s brothers and cousins go a tad overboard in their need to protect. Like most people would do, Mia rebels in her own way. Overtly sexual, Mia amuses herself by being outrageous and shocking her protectors. Of course that’s a double edged sword. Mia’s only begun to realize that by acting as she does, she’s become someone she isn’t. Not only that, but a person’s perception of the real Mia is all wrong. Even knowing that, Mia takes particular enjoyment in riling Cameron Sinclair.

Cameron knows what he wants in life. He wants his company to be a success and he wants a marriage like his parents have. Even knowing that Mia would never be the woman that he wants to spend the rest of his life with, it gets harder and harder not to act on the sizzling attraction. When Mia comes to him asking for his help, she miscalculates in thinking that Cameron won’t overreact like her brothers. Cameron is furious when Mia tells him that she’s being stalked. He’s also determined to protect the hotheaded woman that has gotten farther under his skin than he ever realized.

I liked this book. It was a quick, enjoyable read. The story of Mia and Cameron went over two or three books and concluded with this. The author did a pretty good job with Mia. After the last two books, she didn’t seem like heroine material. Fortunately there were layers to Mia, things about her that even Mia herself didn’t realize. There was a little too much going on as far as the stalker. I think the author didn’t want to be obvious about who the stalker was so she threw in another side plot. That almost put it over the top as far as too many things going on at once.

4 out of 5.
