Genres: Paranormal Romance

In a place where ecstasy can cost you your life . . .

She’s a demon-slayer who hungers for sensual pleasure-but fears it will always be denied her. Until Tayla Mancuso lands in a hospital run by demons in disguise, and the head doctor, Eidolon, makes her body burn with unslakable desire. But to prove her ultimate loyalty to her peers, she must betray the surgeon who saved her life.

Two lovers will dare to risk all.

Eidolon cannot resist this fiery, dangerous woman who fills him with both rage and passion. Not only is she his avowed enemy, but she could very well be the hunter who has been preying upon his people. Torn between his need for the truth and his quest to find his perfect mate before a horrific transformation claims him forever, Eidolon will dare the unthinkable-and let Tayla possess him, body and soul . . .

This is book one in Ione’s Demonica series and I will definitely be coming back for more. There are new paranormal series popping up all over the place, so it’s really important to stand out. Pleasure Unbound does stand out. Ione has created a fascinating world of demons and slayers, vampires and werewolves. At the center of it all is Underworld General Hospital, where Eidolon is the doctor who runs the place.

As an Aegis demon slayer, Tayla Mancuso has made it her life’s work to destroy as many demons and possible. After watching her mother die at the hands of a demon, Tayla knows what monsters demons are. So when she wakes up to find herself in a demon hospital after being attacked by a demon, it isn’t pretty. She’s beyond horrified when she actually finds herself attracted to her demon doctor.

Eidolon knows that there’s more to Tayla than meets the eye. Even if it wasn’t for the tests that show she’s at least half demon, Eidolon would have known she was different. With the urge to mate riding him hard, Eidolon knows he has to stay away from the slayer. It doesn’t work out that way, especially when he finds out that the Aegis slayers are stealing organs from living demons and then leaving them to die.

Though he’s a demon, Eidolon is the only man who has ever made Tayla feel anything. She refuses to let that stop her from doing what she needs to do, which is telling her fellow slayers where Underworld General is. It doesn’t take Tayla and Eidolon long to realize that there may be another faction at work, one that has nothing to do with the Aegis. Trying to fight their attraction to each other, Tayla and Eidolon have to uncover the truth before there is more unnecessary death.

Let me tell you that Eidolon and Tayla are smoking hot. The fact that they fight the attraction almost to the end just makes it that much better. There is a shocking betrayal that I saw coming, though it was no less shocking. There’s a slew of secondary characters that make the Demonica world even more interesting. Paranormal readers will love the world that the author is created here. I highly recommend it.

A small warning to readers: this is a graphic book, not for the faint of heart.

4.5 out of 5.

  1. Great review Casee! I read the excerpts posted here on your blog last week, and I was instantly drawn in and wanted more so desperately! It looks a bit dark and edgy, but still laced with some humor–which I love. OMG the things Tayla was saying as she was coming to in the hospital! LOL

I’m so excited this is coming out tomorrow!!!!
