The Desert Island Keeper Book Tour

Posted April 30, 2008 by Tracy in Promotions | 12 Comments

So a couple of my blogger/book friends and a few of their blogger/book friends all got together last night and decided to go sailing, or yachting, whichever the case may be. Anyway, they seemed to have been shipwrecked and left on this island to fend for themselves…with a wet bar and cabana boy, I’m sure.

So they each were able to keep 6 books with them and none of the friends could have the same books.

Check out their blogs to see what great books they each decided to take with them. The legal ones and of course the illegal contraband.

Enjoy their selections and feel free to add yourself as a stowaway!!
Alright so I’ve decided to join the land lubbers – I mean who can resist the cabana boy?
My picks:

1. Heir to the Shadows by Anne Bishop
What can I say? Everything about this book just pulled me in and it’s something I can read over and over.

2. Queen of the Darkness by Anne Bishop
If I’ve got book 2 I have to have book 3! The love and romance that poured from this book was amazing. If you haven’t read the Black Jewels Trilogy you are definitely missing a great Fantasy/romance read.

3. Lord of the Fading Lands by C.L. Wilson
I’m usually a straight romance kinda girl and don’t usually go for the whole fantasy thing but this was highly recommended and was an incredible world to fall into.

4. Wicked Deeds on a Winter’s Night by Kresley Cole
Bowen & Mari…how could I NOT bring this book!

5. Unleash the Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon
*sigh* what can I say…Wren. *sigh* Just love him. He had such a sheltered life with people who just didn’t care about him enough to really look at him.

6. Winterbourne by Susan Carroll
Melyssan & Jaufre…He loves her despite her physical handicap…she loves him and calms the angry warrior. Just a wonderful historical!

  1. Oh dear lord you’re gonna make me THINK??? haha! This will be hard to do since you all have picked such great books…alright – I’ll see what I can do because I NEED to stowaway!

  2. Yeah!! You posted!! I haven’t read all your picks – but a big YES to Winterbourne. And I’ll be looking to read those Anne Bishop books. I’ve never tried her before.

  3. Kristie they are so stinking good. I’ll admit I had a little trouble getting into them – I think because of the world building but then they took off and MAN did they fly. So very, very good IMHO. I’d love to know what you think after you read them.

  4. Awesome list! So glad you decided to join us on our scheduled shipwreck. ;0
I’ve been wanting to read Anne Bishop for the longest time, even more so since you and Amy recently read them. Well.. Amy was a reread, but still.

I was toying with one of the Tairen Soul books myself.

And Wren is my second favorite Dark Hunter. Although, he’s not really a dark hunter, is he? Huh. Valerius is possibly tied for second with Wren. Zarek is my number one. Loved his story.

Winterbourne I have never read! 🙂

p.s. I sent you something “wicked” and “lovely” on Monday. Sorry it didn’t get to the post office last week. Hopefully you’ll have it by the end of this week!
    MUAH!

  5. Oh Christine – you rock – I’ll be checking my mailbox diligently!

No Wren in not technically a Dark-Hunter but I so love him anyway. I think I’ve got a thing for the were-hunters cuz I love Vane as well. Zarek was my all time fav as well, but since his book was already on the island I took my next fav.

Winterbourne – just love it. In fact I think I’ll have to re-read it soon!

Anne Bishop’s BJT is just incredible – I can’t say it enough. Just love me some Daemon!
