THE FIGHT OF HIS LIFE

As the illegitimate son of Diego Fuentes, Ian Richards faces danger at every turn. Neither his father nor his fellow Navy SEALs knows which side he’s fighting for—or against. Which is exactly how the game must be played…until Agent Porter enters the picture.

STIRS HER DESIRE FOR LIVING

Kira Porter, undercover agent for the Department of Homeland Security, shadows Ian on his journey. She thinks she can see the real man beneath Ian’s bad-boy exterior…but the ever-elusive Ian keeps her guessing at every turn. Is his goal to protect the Fuentes cartel from French terrorists? Or to do his father in for good? The only thing Kira does know is that her attraction to Ian is a time-bomb waiting to explode. With time running out on the Fuentes mission, she and Ian are drawn ever close to the edge of desire—and even closer into the line of fire…

I’ve really been able to take or leave this series since the first book (see Dangerous Games) was released. So I didn’t rush out and buy Killer Secrets, but I am glad I decided to read it.

To someone that doesn’t know Ian Richards, he looks like the exact type of person he’s trying to portray. A man that turned his back on his country to take over one of the most powerful drug cartel’s in the world. A traitor. What these people don’t know is what Ian’s endgame is. And though he has friends that know he isn’t what he seems to be, they also don’t know what Ian’s ultimate plan is. All they can do is watch and wait to catch Ian if he falls.

Kira Porter has come to Aruba with one goal. Stop Ian from killing his father, Diego Fuentes. As an agent for Homeland Security, Kira has to protect its assets and that’s exactly what Diego is. Though she intends to do exactly that, it’s not just for Homeland Security that Kira is there for. It’s Ian. Believing that she has to stop him from killing his own father, even though he is truly a monster, Kira doesn’t want Ian to shoulder that sort of burden. Even knowing that she’ll ultimately have to betray the man she loves, Kira refuses to leave his side.

I really enjoyed this book. Ian is the exact type of alpha hero that I know and love. His inner struggle with either keeping Kira at his side or sending her away really came through loud and clear. You could just really tell that he wanted her with him, but he wanted her safe at the same time. He also knew that there was more to her story of being in Aruba than she’s letting on. Though he knows that and accepts it, Ian won’t let anyone get in the way of his revenge on the man that tortured his best friend for 17 months. Not even Kira.

  1. Though I think KS had its flaws, I liked the book well enough. Ian WAS a great hero, in my book. It’s not the breeds, but it’ll do.

  2. I’m reading this book right now. I haven’t read the previous books in this series, but I will now (I hate reading out of order). Like zeek said “it’s not the breeds” but, then nothing else compares.

  3. I am hving the TOUGHEST time getting into this book. I have had to put it down two or three times to read something else because it just hasn’t captured my attention yet.

And being an avowed Lora Leigh ‘ho, that’s saying something.

Does it get better after about the first 25% of the book?

  4. Wow! I’m so honoured that my blog is currently featured on your Blog Pimp, thanks for linking! 😀

I can’t wait to read this book! I have enjoyed the other installments and I know this book will be equally great too! Thanks for the review.

  5. I enjoyed this one. It did take me a little bit to get into it as well. Ian was a good hero and Kira was a good support for him, I enjoyed both of them very much.

  6. I have wondered about her Seal books. Loved her Nauti series but wasn’t sure about this one. Might have to check it out.

  7. Gwen,

I think it does get better after you get through the first quarter of the book. I assume you’ve finished it? What did you think?
